2009年，一群心繫社會發展的媒體人組建了一支高任務導向的公益文化傳播團隊。他們秉持「發掘需求，連結供應」的核心宗旨，致力於用媒體力量推動社會再造。創立之初，他們立下傳播人的堅守原則：站在洞察社會需求的高度，針對所見問題，提供切實可行的解決方案。
團隊名稱「needs」承載著以下理念與實踐目標：

• D (Daily) 日以繼夜
• S (Service) 服務
needs 媒體傳播中心隸屬「中華華美媒體傳播協會」，是一個少見的台灣非政府（NGO）、非官方、非營利（無廣告、無置入行銷）的純公益媒體機構。中心宗旨為「發掘需求，連結供應」，透過媒體觀察社會需求，提供切實可行的媒體行動方案。
自2010年起，needs RADIO全年無休播出各種主題的廣播節目，透過網路向全球華人傳遞優質內容(https://www.needsradio.org.tw/)。2013年起，Stars RADIO星蹤之愛廣播網專注特定族群（身心障礙者、特定處遇者）的需求， 2019年起，B&B（幫幫廣播網）針對高齡社會的需求，以24小時全球廣播網提供更精準服務。
needs 媒體傳播中心，一家有責任於社會關懷的媒體。needs 媒體以社會關懷為核心，進行媒體倡議，讓需求被看見。秉持「施比受更為有福」的信念，堅守非營利、不對價的原則，避免外部商業影響，專注推動利他主義價值。
