Offcuts is your lumber and plywood sheet calculator helping you minimize waste and maximize productivity. Offcuts will analyze each part of your project, and create a detailed cut list, optimizing for minimal waste.

Easy to use!
I really like this program! This review was edited because I solved my apparent problems by realizing I was using it wrong. I really like the fact that this is not a subscription model program (which kept me from buying other programs). I found out that you can influence grain direction by switching out length vs width. If you find a part in which the grain direction is wrong, just switch length for width and the part will rotate properly. (As well as toggling the ignore grain switch). But there seems to be no way to specify which size of sheet good to use so the program seems to randomly select whatever size is in inventory. However, I got around this easily by creating an inventory name that includes size. For example, instead of specifying Baltic Birch which comes in various sizes, I created Baltic Birch 4x8 as an inventory name. I also created Baltic Birch 5x5. That way I can force the program to use the sizes I want when generating cut lists. Happy to pay for something that works this well!

Offcuts tries to use up all your smaller sheets before moving to the large ones, thus helping you save money. If you want to force the use of a specific size, what you've done is a great solution
