Oticon Companion provides you with discreet, improved control over your hearing aids – so you can personalize your listening experience for any environment, find your hearing aids if they become lost, get remote support from your hearing care professional when you need it, and much more.

The Oticon Companion App is compatible with all Oticon Bluetooth® hearing aids. However, some app features may require a specific hearing aid model or a firmware update. Please consult your hearing care professional for assistance with firmware updates.

With Oticon Companion, you can:

• Adjust the volume of your hearing aids and various settings (e.g. remote microphone, noise reduction, and sound and streaming equalizer)
• Switch between predefined programs according to the different listening situation you are in
• Monitor your battery levels
• Help you find your hearing aids if you lose them
• Use SpeechBooster to reduce background noise and enhance speech when you need to focus on conversation.
• Use your device as a remote microphone and get better access to the voice of another speaker in noisy environments
• Customize your surrounding sounds with the sound equalizer*
• Set and track hearing aid wear-time goals with the HearingFitness™ feature*
• Use the streaming equalizer for a personalized listening experience. The streaming equalizer is available for all Oticon Bluetooth® hearing aids except Oticon Opn™ and Oticon Siya
• Have your hearing aids adjusted and receive counseling from the comfort of your own home – via a live video call with your hearing care professional
• Handle wireless accessories paired with your hearing aids; control multiple TV Adapters or devices, such as Oticon EduMic or ConnectClip, which can be used both for streaming and as a remote microphone

* This feature is available with Oticon Real™ and Oticon Intent™

Very Clunky

This app is extremely clunky. It’s takes forever to load and connect. It’s too bad because I think Oticon has the edge in terms of the aids themselves. This app is really holding them back.

Developer Response ,

Connection issues

When the app connects it is useful. I find that many times it does connect in the morning after the aids are removed from the charger.
When connected, I wish to stream music or a book later on the same day they are not connected or just one is. Yet I go to setting and they are connected to the iPhone. There is no consistency. Sometimes I not only need to turn the aids off & on ( manually or in the charger) there is still no connection. I have shut down the iPhone and this does not always work. They are close to the iPhone when I attempt the various methods to connect, as suggested in the app.
Is this normal? iPhone 14.

Developer Response ,

Dear IamChoreman, we appreciate your feedback. Once the upcoming app update for Companion App (version 1.3.0) becomes available on the app store in a few days, please proceed to update the app. Our developers have diligently worked on enhancing connectivity and performance for an improved experience. If you will still experience the same issues after the update, please report it to the Global App Support team at appsupport@oticon.com. Kind regards, Oticon

Connection to iPad

Absolutely the worst , the iPad cannot find devices

Developer Response ,

Dear Reiki2, thank you for your review.

Here is some information that I hope can help you:
When pairing your hearing aids to an iPad, you might need to first toggle Bluetooth OFF on your iPhone.

Once pairing is done it can be good to know that it is only possible to have the hearing aids connected in the app on one device at a time.

The way to transfer the connection between devices running iOS 17 is to change the audio input by tapping the airplay symbol in the top right part of the control center (openend by swiping down from the top right corner of your device) and choosing your hearing aids. For devices running iOS 16 or older you can transfer the in-app connection by starting to play any sound from the device you want to use with your hearing aids.

Alternatively, it can be necessary in some cases to toggle Bluetooth OFF on the iOS device not used with the hearing aids.

Please write us at appsupport@oticon.com if you need us to troubleshoot this further.

Best regards, Oticon
