Automotive professional users may capture and decode vehicle information numbers (VIN) codes at the vehicle with the new NAPA Mobile VIN Capture app. Once the VIN has been captured and decoded on your mobile device, the VIN and vehicle will immediately appear in the NAPA PROLink catalog option in your NAPA PROLink software where you may use it to begin a NAPA catalog part search and/or attach it to a new or existing customer. If you are a NAPA PROLink user, load the NAPA PROLink VIN Capture app on your mobile device(s). Next login using secure credentials that may only be found in your PROLink system. Enter your "PROLink ID" credentials in your mobile device(s) and once you successfully log into the app, you may begin scanning VIN's and sending them to PROLink along with optional information such as customer name and vehicle name. NAPA PROLink is a full part search and part ordering application used by automotive shops across the country serviced by NAPA AUTO PARTS stores. To successfully use this app the following is required. - An active commercial account at a NAPA AUTO PARTS Store. If you do not have an active account, contact your nearest NAPA AUTO PARTS Store for details. I like this app. I use it daily. But it often won't fully decode a vin and doesn't allow me to go into the details. I have to delete and uninstall and reinstall. Also, you can't scan every vin so it would be nice if there was a way to read the vins without barcodes. Otherwise I use it daily and I recommend it.

Rather play hockey
Pretty much every time I scan a vin it says “unable to decode vin”. Then if I refresh it it will eventually decode and upload to the website. I’ve reinstalled a couple of times and it would still do it. It can be handy if the glitch is fixed.

This is a great tool, makes it easy for my techs to send me VIN's and save me having to write them done, plus if you can't mix up a letter or number and get the VIN wrong this way
