more Under developed. Some settings not propagating; program tracking not consistent with calendar; limited ability to edit; dark theme with black or grey text here and there makes reading difficult or not possible. Trophy case not linked to workouts or calendar. Text on trophies that is too long can’t be read—can’t open trophy for info. List goes on..But the good stuff is really good. Love the coaching idea—would fill that out. Love the auto increases to next workout. Love the strength score! Will be my preferred app once developed further.
Developer Response THANK YOU !! I am a solo dev who likes going to the gym so this app is the gym app I always wanted and nothing makes me happier than hearing somebody else likes it too. Regarding the not working parts I will just say this : hang in there because it will get better. Everything you listed, I will fix. Again an immense thank you for taking the time to try it, use it and especially for the feedback on it. This means the world! Also anything extra you want to add or you’d like to see please feel free and shoot me an email hello@rep-stack.com.

Edit exercises directly from the Today tab, making it faster to adjust your workout before you start.
Schedule tracking is smarter now too: RepStack handles custom training days, missed workouts, and program-week progress more reliably.
5.2.0 Jun 1
This update makes RepStack a stronger gym workout tracker, strength training log, and progressive overload planner.
New Strength Score: your score now understands more of how you actually train, including barbell, dumbbell, cable, machine, bodyweight, and accessory work.
Better workout targets: RepStack now uses your strength profile, PRs, exercise history, and training data to suggest smarter weights and reps.
Better Progress tab: see your strength profile by category, track bonus work, review PRs, and understand what is moving your score.
Better live workouts: preview how today’s sets can affect your Strength Score, then see the result after your workout summary.
Also improved: exercise replacements, starting weight estimates, workout plan preview, offline logging, rest timer flow, and general polish across the app.
5.1.0 May 28
Your strongest update yet. We rebuilt the Trophy Case, shipped a brand-new Exercise History screen, and gave you full control over every exercise in your library — all wired into smarter, more reactive workouts.
NEW — EXERCISE HISTORY
Tap "Previous" on any set mid-workout (or any exercise in your detail view) to see the full story of that lift.
• A live est-1RM trend chart with 1M / 3M / 1Y / All toggles
• Real projections from your real training: "At this pace, you'll hit 100 kg in 8 weeks"
• Milestone ETAs for your next round number and your 1×, 1.5×, 2×, 2.5×, 3× bodyweight benchmarks
• Every past session expands in place to show every set, every rep, every RIR
• Best-set highlights, PR pills, and one-tap deep links to the workout that earned it
REDESIGNED TROPHY CASE
The horizontal scroll is gone. Trophies now live in a clean two-column grid sorted by your latest PR. Tap any trophy to open a brand-new detail sheet with the headline lift, a 90-day est-1RM sparkline with delta, and your full PR history for that exercise. Every event links straight to the workout where you earned it. Adapts to weight × reps, bodyweight, weighted bodyweight, and time-tracked exercises.
EDIT ANY EXERCISE
Finally. Rename any of the 870+ built-in exercises (or your custom ones). Swap the photo. Fix the muscle assignments. Change tracking type from reps to time. Update the YouTube link. Edit the instructions. A one-tap "Reset to default" button puts seeded exercises back exactly how they were — and your Strength Score keeps recognizing renamed lifts thanks to a smart name-history fallback.
SMARTER WEEK GRID
The home calendar got six clean treatments — done, today, planned, rest, missed, and unplanned. No more false "missed" marks for days you weren't supposed to train. Tap any tile to see what was planned versus what you actually logged: completed sessions show stats, planned days show the exercise list, rest days say so.
EDIT WITH CONFIDENCE
A new scope picker lets you choose exactly how far a program change should reach — Today only, This and future, or All workouts — each with an impact preview so there are no surprises. Mode banners across the top of every editable screen show exactly what you're editing: today's workout, the program template, or just viewing history. Completed sessions stay untouched.
LIVE PREFERENCE UPDATES
Switch units from kg to lbs, swap RPE for RIR, or toggle auto-warmup, and the change confirms inline with a quick toast — no app restart, no stale numbers. Mid-workout? Your in-progress sets stay exactly as you typed them, and a one-line banner explains the change.
A CLEANER HOME
NEXT WORKOUT PREVIEW
Finishing a workout now shows what's next — program, week, day, and the exercises that are coming — powered by a single source of truth that home, summary, reminders, and widgets all agree on. No active program? You'll see a clean Start a Program CTA.
PLUS
• History rows now show "+N PR" with the live count — tap the pill to jump straight to the right place
• Refreshed text hierarchy across the whole app so meaningful content reads brighter and meta reads quieter
• Tighter motion, cleaner empty states, smarter skeletons, and a stack of fixes
Train smart. Track everything. Keep stacking reps.

4.2.0 May 11
RepStack — Today's Session Is Yours · May 2026
The biggest update we've shipped to the Today tab. You can now bend your day's plan to whatever the gym throws at you — without ever leaving the home screen.
New
* Edit your day from the home screen. Tap "..." on any exercise to Replace, Remove, or change Sets & Reps. Tap + Add Exercise below the list to drop in something extra. The plan is yours.
* Swap Day. Got to the gym and the squat rack is taken? Tap Swap Day in the Today's Session header and pick a different day from your program. Your weight suggestions recompute against the new day's lifts in real time. Swap back any time.
* Apply to all weeks toggle. Every edit asks one question: just for today, or every week from here on? Off = today only. On = the change rewrites your program template forever. Same checkbox-style flow for Add, Edit, Replace, and Remove.
* Muscle-matched Replace. Hit Replace on a chest exercise and the picker opens already filtered to chest alternatives. Tap the chip to clear and browse everything.
* Warmup sets toggle. On Edit Sets & Reps and Add Exercise, flip Warmup on and we'll seed two warmup rows ahead of your working sets when the workout starts.
* Sticky Start Workout button. Always pinned to the bottom of Today, no matter how far you've scrolled. Resume Workout if a session's already going; Quick Start when no program is active.
* Welcome to your home base. Brand-new lifters get a one-time bottom drawer on first home visit — three bullets explaining the tab and where Start sits.
* Rate Your Last Set, properly. The tiny 11px difficulty buttons we used to show after the last set of an exercise have been replaced with a full bottom sheet. Big tap targets, color-graded buttons, "Smashed it" → "Crushed me." Your rating drives next session's weight bump or pullback — now hard to miss.
Improvements
* Onboarding ends on the home tab, not in a live workout. New lifters had been getting dropped straight into a Day 1 session and discarding it. Now you land on Today, see your plan, and tap Start when you're actually at the gym.
* Faster weight suggestions on swapped days. Switch from Chest to Back day and every exercise's weight recomputes from your actual history of those lifts. No stale numbers carried over.

4.1.0 May 3
RepStack 4.0 — Show up. We'll handle the math.
Strong May Challenge — Train on 8 different days in May to earn 1 week of free Pro. 12 days unlocks 2 weeks. 16 days unlocks a full month. Live now through May 31.
NEW · WIDGET ON YOUR HOMESCREEN
Pin "what's next" where you'll actually see it. Long-press your home screen, search RepStack, add the medium widget — or drop the rectangular accessory on your lock screen.
• Today's session: program, week, day, exercise count, ETA
• Mid-workout? It flips to "RESUME" — one tap, you're back at your set
• iOS 17+: long-press → Edit Widget to swap the bottom stat (Strength Score, Weekly Volume, Last Workout, Streak)
FIX · LIVE ACTIVITY THAT ACTUALLY WORKS
The Dynamic Island and lock-screen rest timer used to hang on the green check, or skip the countdown entirely. Both are gone.
• Rest countdown shows the moment you finish a set
• +30s and −30s sync to the Dynamic Island instantly
• Quick-firing sets back-to-back no longer leaves the timer in a stale state
STARTING WEIGHTS, CALIBRATED TO YOU
Tell us your bench 1-rep max — or how many push-ups you can do — and your first session's weights are set to your real strength, not a generic average. Every other lift cascades from what we know.
STRENGTH SCORE, REBUILT
"Beginner" is now Foundation — every lifter starts somewhere. Pull-ups, lat pulldowns, lateral raises, hip thrusts, weighted dips and more now count. The Progress tab shows a live bar to your next tier. Scoring is fairer at every rep range.
ONBOARDING, TRIMMED
Cut the fluff. You'll see a real, personalized plan in under 60 seconds.
EVERY WORKOUT, A NEW PR
Finish a session, watch your Strength Score climb in real-time with a haptic count-up.
SMARTER COACHING
The first workout now explains why your weights are what they are. The engine adapts to today and tunes tomorrow.
REMINDERS THAT EARN THEIR PLACE
A nudge the night before your workout. A heads-up two days before any trial ends. No surprise charges.
FIXES
• kg/lbs choice persists across the entire app
• Push-up and pull-up counts scale properly above 20 reps
• Onboarding can't get stuck — failed step now shows a retry button
• Plus dozens of copy fixes where the app said one thing and did another
4.0.0 May 1
RepStack 3.0 — the biggest update yet.
A complete redesign, top to bottom. Every screen has been rebuilt to be faster, clearer, and more satisfying to use.
Today
Your new home. See what's next, resume where you left off, and jump into a workout in one tap.
Train
A dedicated tab for everything program-related. Browse your programs, create custom ones, or import from a spreadsheet — all in one place.
Ranks
A new way to measure how far you've come. Climb from Beginner to Elite as your lifts get stronger.
Strength Score, reimagined
Smarter math, better matching across barbell, dumbbell, and machine variations. Your score now reflects your real strength more accurately than ever.
Polished everywhere
New typography, new spacing, new motion. The whole app feels sharper — from the set row to the summary screen.
Thanks for lifting with us. Go hit a PR.
3.0.0 Apr 20
Live workout metrics — see your volume % change per exercise as you train, with arrows on every set showing if you're up or down from last time. E1RM tracks in your exercise list. Beat a personal record and a banner drops in with a haptic tap.
Smarter weight suggestions — "Too Easy" now bumps your weight next session like it should. Bodyweight exercises like ab roller and hanging leg raises no longer show a weight where there shouldn't be one. Days that mix bodyweight and barbell exercises now suggest weights for everything.
Program tracking fixed — doing the same workout day twice no longer counts as two different days. Your program only advances when you complete each unique day in the week.
Reliability — improved iCloud sync with proper conflict handling, duplicate-safe workout stats, and timestamp tracking across all workout actions.
2.6.0 Apr 13
Time-Based Exercises
Dead hangs, planks, wall sits — finally. Tap the timer, hold your set, stop when done. Seconds auto-fill, and the set completes. New Longest Hold PR type tracks your best duration.
Accurate Volume Tracking
Dumbbell exercises now count both arms. 10 reps × 20kg curls = 400kg moved, not 200. Bodyweight exercises auto-fill your weight so pull-ups, dips, and push-ups finally count toward your tonnage.
Smart Warm-Up Sets
Compound barbell exercises get 3 warm-up sets automatically — ramping to your working weight based on history. First time? We estimate from your bodyweight. Turn it off anytime in Settings.
Weekly Streaks
Your streak now counts consecutive weeks trained, not consecutive days. Rest days don't break it anymore. Hit 4, 8, 12, or 52 weeks and get a celebration.
Body Measurements
Tap the body map to track chest, bicep, waist, and thigh. Each measurement has its own chart, history, and trend. Swipe to delete entries. Weight and measurements live together in one unified view.
Profile Redesign
Body map with measurements, bodyweight chart, and logging — all in one card. Settings moved behind the gear icon. Cleaner, faster, focused on what matters.
Also Fixed
Rest timer controls now work for quick-start exercises (not just program workouts)
Custom exercises properly save equipment type (bodyweight, barbell, dumbbell, etc.)
Create Exercise pre-fills the name you already typed
Onboarding strength score labeled as "Estimated" with an accuracy note
PR badges show "8s Longest Hold" instead of "8 kg max_duration."
2.5.0 Apr 9
Smarter Progression Engine
The engine now coaches you set by set — not just uniform reps across the board. Each set gets its own target based on what you actually did last time.
Recovery Weeks
Deload weeks now automatically reduce your weight (60%) or volume. Your progress charts and PRs stay clean — recovery sessions don't pollute your data.
Plateau Breaking
Stuck after a reset? The engine shifts your rep range to break through instead of deloading again. Heavier weight, fewer reps — then back to normal.
Technique Tips
When an exercise stalls for 3+ sessions, you'll see suggestions like drop sets, pause reps, or tempo work. Different tips for compounds vs isolation.
Difficulty-Aware Coaching
Rate a session "Hard" and the engine holds your weight and reps instead of pushing you. Two hard sessions in a row? It nudges you forward with a rep.
Faster Rebuilds
After a deload, the engine ramps you back to your previous weight faster — mid-range reps instead of starting from scratch.
Keyboard Fix
Fixed an issue where the keyboard couldn't be dismissed on the onboarding screen.
2.4.0 Apr 6
Personalized onboarding. RepStack now builds your program based on your goal, experience, training days, equipment, and bodyweight. Walk in knowing exactly what to lift.
16 programs. Push Pull Legs, Power & Size, Strength Builder, 5-Day Split, Dumbbell Only, Body Recomp, and more. Every program includes coach notes and ab work.
Strength Score preview. See your estimated score before your first workout. Watch where 12 weeks could take you.
Smarter first workout. Weights pre-filled from your profile. Form cues on every compound. Three guided tips to get you started.
Muscle map. See exactly which muscles your program targets — front and back.
2.3.0 Apr 2
Plate Calculator — Tap the weight on any barbell exercise to see exactly which plates to load on each side. Color-coded competition plates, visual barbell diagram, and support for Olympic, Women's, and EZ Curl bars.
RPE/RIR Effort Tracking — Log how hard each set felt. Toggle between RPE and RIR in Settings. Color-coded intensity pills on every set — red for max effort, green for easy. Tap to cycle through values.
Strong & Hevy CSV Import — Switching apps? Import your full workout history from a Strong or Hevy CSV export. Auto-detects format, matches exercises against our 873-exercise database, handles unit conversion, and lets you undo with one tap.
2.2.0 Apr 1
Onboarding is completely rebuilt. You now pick your goal — Build Muscle, Get Stronger, Stay Consistent, or Lose Fat — and RepStack builds a program matched to both your goal and experience level. One program, built for you, ready to go.
All built-in programs are redesigned with structured day names, warmup sets on every compound lift, and rep schemes tuned to your goal.
The program menu now gives you two clear options: build your own or import one from text or a spreadsheet.
