Skip Lab

Camera jump rope counter

Free · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.

Prop your phone up and skip. Every set is counted, timed and filmed on its own — pace, rhythm, records, all on device. No tapping, no wearable, no counting in your head. Prop your phone against a wall, start a session, and skip. Skip Lab watches through the camera and counts every skip — set by set, on its own. Nothing to wear, nothing to tap, nothing to count in your head. WHAT IT DOES • Counts from the camera. No wearable, no rope sensor, no beaded handle. Put the phone across the room and jump. Every skip is counted on the phone itself, as you do it. • Finds your sets for you. Stop to catch your breath and the set closes on its own; start again and the next one opens. You never tell the app you are starting or stopping — you just skip. • Measures the set, not just the count. Every set carries its duration, pace in skips per minute, how even your rhythm was, how high you bounced, and how it ended — including when the rope caught you. • Films every set. Each set is saved as its own trimmed clip, so a forty-minute session becomes the eleven pieces you actually did instead of forty minutes of footage. Save them to Photos or share them. • Intervals. Work, rest and rounds on one screen. Spoken and audible cues at every change, plus a flashlight pulse for the last three seconds, so you can run the whole thing from across the room without looking at the phone. • Battle. Two people, one phone, one target. Both are counted live, side by side, and the first to the number wins — then the race becomes a shareable highlight reel. • Apple Watch. The count, your pace and your heart rate on your wrist while the phone films from across the room — which is the one screen you can actually read mid-set. End the session from the watch. The workout is saved to Apple Health, so your rings close. • Records that ratchet. Most consecutive skips, longest unbroken run, best session, lifetime total — plus a trend line for every session you have done. ON YOUR PHONE, NOT IN THE CLOUD Every frame is analysed on your iPhone. Your footage and your counts never leave the device. There is no account, no sign-up, and no internet connection required to use any part of the app. Skip Lab sends a small number of anonymous product events so we can see which parts get used — counts and durations only, never your footage and never anything you typed. WHO IT IS FOR Anyone who skips and wants to know the number: boxers and martial artists, CrossFit and HIIT athletes, runners warming up, and anyone using a rope as their conditioning. If you have ever lost count at ninety and started again, this is the app. WHAT YOU NEED An iPhone you can prop up, a rope, and about two metres of room. Portrait, front or back camera, indoors or out. Good light helps; a plain wall behind you helps more.
