Slidebox - Photo Manager 4+

This is an app i’ve been looking for since few years. Extremely easy to use, and does exactly what i’ve been searching for (adding to albums photos that haven’t been sorted yet). Not even joking : i found this app at 12am and i sorted 4700 photos and videos for 7hrs straight. It’s actually 7am and all my photos and videos are now sorted in albums. This is crazy ! The app is extremely fast, really faster than iPhone basic Photos app. It works seamlessly with it.

However, 2 major functions are missing. Please add:
- Long clicking on a photo and having the option to « Open in Photos », like if i wanna open a photo in the Apple Photos app (to edit, to crop, etc)
- Using a photo as Wallpaper

I don’t see that Slidebox does anything the Photos app doesn’t already do. I already had 20 albums in the Photos app before I started Slidebox. I want it to do something the Photos can’t do.

• Most importantly I cannot SORT the photos within the album, which is no better than the Photos app. There are many situations where I really want to change the sort order of photos in an album. No doubt each album would have a different sorting requirement.
• Putting photos into albums is something the Photos app already does. Where is the next step?
• I would like to be able to view my photos in an album in my own selected order. That is absolutely basic. The starting point.
• I want to be able to view my photos in an album as a slide show - in my own selected order.
• It annoyed me that I cannot view my photos in landscape mode. Considering that close to 3/5 of my photos are landscape orientation that is a big disadvantage.
• I can’t select a Photos App album to pick from.
• Once the photos are organized into an album then I want to SORT them. We get to step one OK but there’s nothing else. Ambitions thwarted. There are no sort options. I can’t change the order of photos in an album. The whole point of grouping photos into an album is to be able to organize them in some way, not just lumped together in an order I have no control over. I can’t drag and drop a picture to a different place in an album. I can’t view them by file type - for instance DNG or jpeg or tiff. I can’t view them by file size. I can’t move photos so that a later edit appears beside the original photo.
• I can’t sort photos by Date Edited.
• My edited photos don’t appear beside the original photo so when I made several nearly identical photos on a tripod I can’t tell which is the original photo and which is another picture from that group.
• I can’t compare two photos side-by-side.
• I can’t select 2 or 3 or 4 photos from within an album and compare them side-by-side or one after the other or any other way that doesn’t show the photos in between.
• I can’t tell which is the original photo and which is the smaller version I made for Facebook.
• I can’t see the file size.
• Something I REALLY WANT is full frame thumbnails, not cropped squares. Square thumbnails makes it impossible to distinguish verticals from horizontals. That is another essential.
• When I shoot DNG+JPEG I need to be able to tell them apart. The file type tags should appear on each thumbnail. Other photo browsers have this feature. Why not Slidebox? I want to be able to select my DNG HDR brackets to Airdrop to my iPad for developing
• I can’t rate photos, for instance 4 out of 5 stars, and then sort them by the rating. This is another essential feature missing.
• I don’t want any cloud backup - ever.
• I don’t want subscriptions - ever.

Considering all the things Slidebox cannot do why would I want to pay anything for it? Especially not a ridiculously overpriced subscription.
