Have a safe and healthy journey through your pregnancy and birth with SmartParent.
SmartParent is a made-in-Canada app for prenatal education that will guide you week by week through your pregnancy. Developed by clinical professionals in maternal and child health, it offers research-based information, important topics for discussion with your maternity care provider and contact numbers for community resources in British Columbia.
SmartParent is free, has no in-app purchases, and contains no advertising. The app can be used entirely offline once installed and set up, so you can use it even without internet access.
The weekly guide covers essential topics like nutrition, exercise, mental health, safety, and preparation for labor and delivery. The app also includes:
• Optional topics to personalize the weekly guide for your needs
• A timeline to track your baby’s growth
• Key dates for routine pregnancy tests
• A notes section to help you keep track of questions for your doctor or midwife.
SmartParent is intended for use by people without pre-existing medical conditions that require ongoing monitoring and/or medication during pregnancy. Always follow your care provider’s advice when using SmartParent and consult your care provider before making any medical decisions.
Created by researchers at the University of British Columbia in collaboration with BC Health Authorities, our information comes from current, evidence-based sources. SmartParent content is endorsed by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC).
