After a long time and a lot of work here is the latest update to SnowTrailsNL Updated the app to be compatible with ios 26, the minimum ios version needed for the app to run is now ios 15.6 Updated map code from version v6 to Version 11 for much better map support and the addition of 3d maps. When viewing the map you can now press the 3d button and you will get a 3d map where you can see the hills and valleys and also 3d buildings in the map. I also updated the offline maps so you will now see a progress bar to indicate if you have all the maps downloaded to your device, it will show the download progress and when completed it will disappear from the screen. The app now has a button that can delete all the offline map files if you need more space on your device and that will also force a download of any new maps. The app always checks for map updates when you open it and will only download the sections that have been updated saving on data usage. The tracking function is now a single button labelled, "Track me".

Uodated for support of iOS 16. Cleaned up the map selection to just one selection. you no longer have to select which region of the map you want to load, it will now load all the trails and it will work without any network coverage. Just remember to open the app at least once while you have service to download the maps and trails, aftger that it will check periodically for map and trail updates and download them automatically. Added new engine for the maps, rearranged code for next update that will add more features. Fixed up some points on the map, and also updated the maps with some new trails and corrections and also made the maps easier to update. Many more updates coming soon.

Not a big update on the outside but this is a BIG upgrade under the hood Updated from UIWebkit to the newer WKWebkit Fixed a few screens that didn't disappear after closing Now updated to fully support iOS 14 Complete rewriting of offline mapping, Now works properly and will also update automatically. Offline map size has been trimmed down to 10 Mb, and the app will only download any tiles that have been updated It does not re-download tiles you already have so updates to the offline maps will be extremely tiny in file size so it will be very easy on cellular data usage App uses no battery life at all when in the background so it will not leave you with a dead battery from using Offline mode now has all the other items on it now like warm up shelters, warnings, gas stations etc. Minimum version of iOS is now version 12.0, support for anything less than 12.0 has concluded

Fully offline capable, download the maps and trails for the whole province, no need for cellular or wifi at all. When you do have wifi or cellular service the app will periodically check for updates to the maps and trails automatically. You will need to open the app at least once on wifi or cellular to download the files. It takes approximately 36 Mb to download everything. The app still uses no battery life while in the background. There are some things that do not work in the offline mode yet. No tracking, No Satellite View, no trailnames etc, they will be added soon

Updated for iOS 12 Compatibility Updated for compatibility with iPhone X, XR, XS and XS Max With the app updated to the current version of iOS, I can now work on adding new features and making the app easier to update in the future. I also removed a warm up shelter that wasn't actually there.

I received some updates after 3.7 was published, so this version contains updates for bridge outages in the central region, added warm up shelters, restaurants and gas stations in the dorset club region and restaurant/gas in Badger. There have been some updates to the Kittiwake trails as well, those are already updated in your app, as they are downloaded each time you open the app and are independant of updating the app. The MapBox Backend has also been updated and included in this app, This updates improves the maps and trails when going out of and back into cellular service areas, and improves performance and graphics.

Groomer Updates for ALL regions are now separated by location and club name. This will make it easier for you to find groomer updates for the area you want to check out. Each club name also shows it's general coverage area right under each button. This should make the app one of the best places to get all your groomer updates in one easy to access location.

Fixed some button layout issues that were in version 3.5 Some trail names appear when zoomed out a little farther then before. Also corrected some trail names in the western and central areas. Corrected the About This App Page and explained the trail coloring legend so it is clearer than before. Separated the Western and Central groomer updates by clubs, this will make it easier to look up updates by club. The rest will be separated in a future version. Added some more Gas stations and hotels/lodges in the central area
