6 GREAT THINGS ABOUT TRANSIT:
THE BEST REAL-TIME DATA: Using the best transit agency data, GO crowdsourcing data and our in-house ETA prediction engine, we get you the most accurate real-time info possible for all public transport modes: bus, subway or metro, train, streetcar, ferry, rideshare and more. Prefer to travel on two wheels? See live bikeshare and scooter locations right on the map.
OFFLINE SUPPORT: Bus schedules, stop locations, subway maps and even our trip planner are available offline. When GPS is spotty underground? Use GO and you’ll still get precise ETAs.
TRIP PLANNING PAR EXCELLENCE: See fast and easy trips combining buses, subways and trains, and even multiple modes in one trip (bus + bike or scooter + metro). Personalize your travel in the settings – skip long walks or the modes you’d rather avoid.
GO NAVIGATION*: Use GO navigator to receive departure alarms to catch your bus or train, and get alerted when it’s time to get off or transfer. You’ll also contribute more accurate info and real-time ETAs for other passengers – and rack up points for being the most helpful rider on your line.
CROWDSOURCED WISDOM: See what other riders have to say! With millions of users contributing, you’ll get helpful info on crowding levels, on-time performance, the closest station exits, and more.
EASY PAYMENTS: Pay your transit fare and buy bikeshare passes directly in the app in 100+ cities.
*Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life.

Love the bug fix messages. I don’t usually read update messages but with you guys it’s worth it. You’re great! Keep doing whatever you’re doing.
Hate the upgrade
i love you miah
This WAS an amazing app, I have used it for the past 10 years, it’s essential to my life as I don’t have a car. I think it’s ridiculous that they are now making you get a membership. People who don’t have a lot of money are the ones using the bus, ontop of already high inflation rates and they choose to make it unaccessible to those who need it most like teenagers and daily citizens. Make this app free again, it’s for public transportation, and shouldn’t be a money grab. Complete abusive of power

We understand it can be frustrating that we’re asking people to subscribe for certain features. Royale helps sustain Transit. Even without Royale, you can plan A-to-B trips, pin your favourite lines and move the map to see additional lines. You can visit our announcement page at transitapp.com/royale or email us at royalereview@transitapp.com.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I don't know what the reasoning was for this massive UI overall, but the app is practically useless in Toronto now. The arrival times are now wrong, it's not intuitive to determine which route is heading in which direction unless you're already intimately familiar with the route you're travelling on, and this new trip planner feature isnt worth using because any sane person is already using Google Maps. This was practically perfect before: you could see all the routes, the timing was accurate, and it was clear which buses/streetcars were headed in which direction. It was also amazing to use this while travelling out of town because I could figure out exactly where I was going with ease. Why did you have to go and ruin a good thing by saddling it with your latest "update"? #rollbacktopreviousversion
OK. So maybe our beloved Canada isn’t a soccer powerhouse quite yet. But if there was a shiny cup for being romantic about public transportation, the Transit team would be frontrunners every year — and you’d be our honourary captain.
From fond memories of rides across the city, to your obsessive impulse to know exactly how much longer your morning commute is versus your afternoon one (it’s important, OK!) our all-new Trip History feature lets you run the tape back and look up stats for all your past GO trips.
Once you enable Trip History in the settings, you can start tracking all the tracks you’ve travelled down, including:
- every GO trip you’ve taken
- the number of riders you helped via GO crowdsourcing
- the rating you left each trip
- what the weather was like
- how long the trip took, how long you waited
- top speed (wheeeee) and more
For additional info, take a trip down your bus-filled memory lane: transitapp.com/en/features/trip-history
We’ve also snuck in a few other surprises before the final whistle, like:
- Helping partner agencies who are playing host to the football fiesta (in Vancouver, Toronto, Kansas City, Seattle, the Bay Area, and beyond) make it easier for spectators and regular city folk to navigate their cities, with little improvements here and there
- Invisible backend improvements that let us swap real-time sources faster than before. (Has your agency made an on-the-fly fix to where their transit data is stored? No more stale data lingering in the app — we’ll now update to the new source in a few short minutes.)
- Homescreen widget update! Our wee ol’ widget now lets you plan a trip in one tap for up to four locations — like home, school, work, and one other mysterious fourth place where everybody knows your name
- Bug fixes, obv
…and that’s it!
