trompt is a teleprompter camera that lets you read your script and record at the same time. The script sits right below the lens, so your eyes stay on the camera while you talk.
Get your script in within seconds
• Copy text anywhere, open trompt, and start from "Script you just copied"
• Select text in Google Docs, Notion or Notes, then Share → trompt
• Import .txt, .md and .rtf files from the Files app
• Sections are split automatically at headings and blank lines
A script that moves at your pace
• Read a short sample aloud once: trompt marks how far you've read, measures your pace and uses it as your default speed
• While you record, the script follows your voice and waits when you pause
• Tap the script to pause while recording, tap again to resume
• Adjust text size, visible lines and background opacity right on the camera screen
Record by section, retake only the misses
• Stop recording, confirm the take, and it goes to Photos (or turn off the check to save straight away). Prefer Files? Each shoot can go into its own folder, one per section, ready for your editor
• "Retake this section" rewinds to the start of that section
• Start and stop with a volume button, a Bluetooth shutter remote or AirPods, with the phone on a tripod
• Hold it upright for 9:16, sideways for 16:9
• Switch between front and rear cameras. On the rear camera, read the script on screen while you film a product or the view ahead
Captions, even without a script
• Record without a script and what you say appears as text on screen while you record; the saved video gets captions. Saving to Files also writes an SRT caption file
Made for iPhone Duo
• Unfold it: a full-screen preview, with the script right next to the camera
• Prop it half-folded: large script on the upper panel
• Shooting with the rear camera? Your script shows on the outer display, so you can read while recording with the better camera

Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
• When you stop recording, trompt now asks first: "Save", "Discard and retake" or "Discard". Pressing a volume button or your remote saves the take. To save right away as before, turn off "Ask before saving" in Settings › Recording.
• Unfold iPhone Duo and shoot with the front camera: you now get a full-screen preview, with the script right next to the camera. Prop it half-folded and the large script stays on the upper panel, as before.
• New outer display layout for rear-camera selfies on iPhone Duo: the script and preview are no longer cut off at the hinge, and you press and hold the shutter to start and stop instead of anywhere on the screen. You can also save and record the next section from there.
Fixes
• Fixed freezes and crashes on iPhone Duo when rotating, folding or unfolding.
• Fixed countdowns and recordings on iPhone Duo cutting off when the hinge moved slightly.
• The screen no longer rotates mid-recording, and the camera screen no longer auto-locks.
• Fixed thin white lines that sometimes appeared on the camera screen.
• Fixed recordings that wouldn't start or got stuck on "Saving…". If a video still can't be saved, it's kept in Files › trompt › Unsaved videos.
