I’m trying to gain weight after a prolonged illness and got this scale mostly to check muscle mass and keep an easy record for my doctor. Firstly, inputting a goal weight isn’t optional when creating a profile, but even if you list goal weight as higher the app is still coded as if you’re doing something wrong if you’re not losing weight.

It labels BMI under 18.5, listed as unhealthy by any sensible medicine, as “lean” colored yellow, and anything above standard is “high” or “extremely high” in orange/red. Regardless of goal weight, it always lists weight gain with a red arrow and weight loss with a green arrow, which may seem inconsequential to most but if you struggle with body image that subtleness is damaging when humans subconsciously give positive or negative meaning to things like that.

The Bluetooth itself takes some work to set up but is seamless once you get going. You should calibrate the scale before each use with the app open—I do this by stepping on the middle of the scale with one foot, then removing it when the screen turns on. Once it reads 0.0 and turns off again, stepping on it should record the info in the app. On first use after pairing in the app, I had to press on each figure I wanted recorded besides weight; it took some fiddling here but after that first reading it now it measures everything automatically with weight in seconds.

I love this app and scale I put in athlete mode and it gives me all the info I want to do BMI, BMR, body fat, bone lbs and a ton more. Visceral fat . The only reason why I do not give it 5 stars is because I went to go to trends on day 2 and my info from day 1 is not saved to compare. Also lets you put in your goal weight and how many lbs to loose to reach it!

This app take forever to start. I couldn’t even sign up to start the app.
