It looks simple enough at first, with just three modules to defuse and a five-minute time limit. And you’re allowed three mistakes before it all goes boom. With simple taps and swipes, you can rotate the bomb and zoom in on its various modules. 

But bombs are complex devices, and the solution can be very different depending on the layout. A large button might say HOLD, but you’ll need to let go immediately if there are more than two batteries. 

It sounds stressful, but it’s often hilarious in practice. There’s nothing quite like trying to describe an unfamiliar symbol—“it looks like a smiley face with a tongue sticking out!“—as the clock ticks closer to zero.

Some games are more fun when you try to break the rules, but Keep Talking & Nobody Explodes is definitely at its best if you stick to them. Don’t cheat by showing your screen to your fellow players, and experts, keep the manual to yourselves.
