By Name is built on a simple idea backed by research: when you review a name after meeting someone, you're far more likely to remember it next time. That's spaced retrieval — the act of recalling information strengthens the memory each time you do it.
The power is in the review. Drop names into the app throughout your day, then look back through them that evening. By Name sends you daily, weekly, and monthly reminders to review the people you've met — and each time you do, the memory gets stronger.
When you meet someone, add their name with a quick note about where you met them or what you talked about. That's it. No social media, no contact syncing, no complexity. Just a running record of the people who crossed your path — and a reason to look them up again.
You can add names by typing or through Siri. Just say "Hey Siri, met someone in By Name" and speak naturally. The app tracks how many people you've remembered today, this week, this month, and overall. Tap any name to edit details. Swipe to remove. Shake to undo.
