OFFLINE MAPS — North Park, pre-installed. • Satellite imagery at full zoom over the North Park basin — Walden, Rand, Gould, Cameron Pass and the Never Summer range — ready the moment you install, with no download and no signal. • Topographic, geologic, BLM public-land and Forest Service layers pre-installed across the same area, reaching out to Steamboat, the Poudre canyon and Laramie. • The app is a fraction of its former download size despite the added map detail, so it installs faster and works over cellular. BLUETOOTH & MESH — rebuilt. • See every radio. Radios already connected to your iPhone were invisible before; they now appear in an "Other radios" list on the connection card, so you can switch without disconnecting first. • Pairing that works. The PIN screen no longer disappears while you're reading the code off your radio, and cancelling it no longer triggers a cascade of repeat prompts. • Messages send. Retrying a failed message and composing a direct message both used a path with no retry and no readiness check, so they could fail the instant you tapped send. Every send path now waits for the link and retries properly. • Honest status. The connection card tells you when a radio is connected but silent, instead of showing a healthy green card. Plus: node lists show real last-heard times, direct-message encryption badges tell the truth, and low-battery alerts fire on connect.

A speed-and-smoothness release — MeshTrail now launches faster and stays fluid everywhere. FASTER COLD LAUNCH — the opening screen now stays up until the map is genuinely ready instead of on a fixed timer, so you no longer land on a half-loaded, stuttering map. The map also opens already centered on your last known location, and launching the app no longer interrupts music or a podcast you're already playing. SMOOTHER FIELD GUIDE — the full species list now loads on demand and its call-audio badges are precomputed, so scrolling the A-Z wildlife list is fluid even on older phones. Recent-sighting and lifelist thumbnails are downsampled and cached. QUICKER IMPORTS — photos and GPX files are now processed off the main thread, so adding a capture or importing a track no longer freezes the screen. MESH FIXES — tapping a channel chip now opens that conversation instead of silently creating it, and the unread badge clears for messages that arrive while you're already reading the thread. Also includes the Colorado hunting overlay (State Wildlife Areas, Walk-In Access, and blaze-orange GMU boundaries), tap-for-hunt-info on waypoints, and two more free color themes.

The hunt-ready release — new Colorado wildlife overlays, more free themes, and polish throughout. WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT OVERLAY — a new map layer straight from Colorado Parks & Wildlife: State Wildlife Areas, Walk-In Access properties, and Game Management Unit (GMU) boundaries drawn in high-visibility blaze orange with unit numbers. This is where hunters tag in. TAP FOR HUNT INFO — drop a waypoint anywhere in Colorado and MeshTrail shows the GMU, county, and public-access property you're standing on, plus the elk and deer data-analysis units. MORE FREE THEMES — Forest and Midnight are now free for everyone, six themes total at no cost. FASTER MAPS — reworked tile caching so downloaded map detail always wins, quicker panning, and a smaller install. Plus a full accuracy-and-polish sweep across navigation, tracking, and the field guide.

The backcountry-accuracy release — built from real field testing in the Never Summer Range. PEAKS — 60 survey-verified summits and passes around the Never Summer Range, Cameron Pass, the Rawahs, and North Park (Nokhu Crags, Mount Richthofen, the full cloud series, Thunder Pass, and more), each checked against USGS survey data. Wrong-location entries from earlier versions were removed. AR HORIZON — fixed a tracking bug that made peak labels drift and jump whenever you faced east or west. Labels now stay locked on the right summits. NAVIGATION — the compass needle now always points true north (with a separate facing marker). The map opens centered on YOU. Tap anywhere on the map to drop a waypoint. Distances, elevation, and pace fully respect the Imperial/Metric setting. ROUTE FOLLOWING — navigate a planned route stop-by-stop with automatic advance as you arrive, progress display, skip/back controls, numbered stops on the map, and a distance-true elevation profile. TRACKING — elevation gain/loss now filters GPS noise for honest climb totals. FIELD GUIDE — sharper photos, instant tap-to-expand, and smooth swiping in every species gallery.

A big reliability and polish update across the whole app. MESH — MeshCore radios now discover nearby nodes and decode messages correctly (full protocol overhaul, verified against the MeshCore spec). New channel-busy warning tells you when the airwaves are congested, and public channels now show a clear privacy notice while you type. BACKUPS — Full backups now include your recorded tracks (with the complete GPS trace) and journal photos, and re-importing the same backup no longer creates duplicates. Move to a new phone with everything intact. AUDIO — Music, wildlife calls, and the media player now keep playing when the screen locks. SOLUNAR — Feeding-time forecasts now include the moon-underfoot major period and no longer miss transits at low moon angles. Sunrise/sunset times are more precise. Plus: fixed a crash when removing photos from a journal entry, fair arcade-game difficulty on replay, better GPS and camera permission handling, VoiceOver support for the compass and media controls, sticker album tap-through fixes, and dozens of smaller refinements.

Every core feature costs nothing: offline topo/satellite/geology maps, the LoRa mesh radio system, GPS navigation and route planning, SOS, live weather, and the full 200+ species field guide. NEW — Sticker Album: every animal and plant in the field guide now has a collectible sticker. View a species, log a sighting, or hear its call to unlock it, and fill out all 333 in your album. New album achievements track your progress. NEW — MeshTrail Premium: an optional one-time unlock that adds the retro arcade games, the virtual trail pet, the AR star chart, and extra color themes. Buy once, keep forever — not a subscription. Live river-gauge data now works over cellular, not just Wi-Fi. The water tab also gained a retry button and clearer status messages. Plus dozens of refinements across the star chart, weather forecast, biome detector, hunting & fishing guides, and the mesh networking stack.

MESH — Message delivery receipts fixed, traceroute now shows results, node battery/position/last-heard appear instantly on connect, waypoints you share now pin on other users' maps, and every node shows distance + bearing from you. STAR CHART — 21 constellations with names drawn across the sky, stars in their true colors, a live reticle that identifies whatever you aim at, and a new "Visible Next 24h" panel with rise and set times for the Moon, planets, and bright stars. FIELD GUIDE — Sort species by size, activity, or your own sightings; sort tracks by print size and plants by edible/medicinal. Smoother photo viewing with fixed swiping, journal templates with automatic weather capture, and full waypoint editing with smart category icons. BIOME — Smarter biome detection with latitude-corrected life zones, live bedrock identification for your exact location, new Carbon, Nitrogen, and Fire Ecology guides, and 8 new rock types. WEATHER — The forecast now works within minutes (and survives restarts), and Solunar adds a 24-hour activity timeline, true moon-phase graphics, and an explanation of every score. GAMES — Qix is friendlier to learn, each game has its own soundtrack, your camp companion now takes real 12-hour recovery rests, and 16 new achievements with deeper stats. Plus 26 new verified Rocky Mountain peaks, faster lists everywhere, KML export for Google Earth, and dozens of stability fixes.

Major map upgrade: 5 GB of offline tiles bundled in the app — USGS topo, street, geology, BLM, USFS, hillshade. Continental USA at street zoom, North America at overview zoom, with extra detail across Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Montana, and Idaho. New first-launch tutorial walks you through every tab. Geology basemap now selectable directly from the Layers sheet, with the tap-to-identify pinpoint and rock-unit legend always available when geology is on. Offline source cards redesigned with per-source brand colors and uniform formatting. Smarter offline downloader — automatically skips tiles already in the built-in bundle so you only download truly new coverage. Many performance and reliability fixes throughout the mapping system.

Plant field guides expanded with 88 new photos across dozens of species — every entry now has a full gallery instead of a single image. The geology layer is more accurate: tapping a rock unit returns the correct formation at the visible map zoom instead of an arbitrary overlapping one. Specific network messages (offline / timed out / service down) instead of a generic "network error". Tactile press feedback on every button. Various performance and reliability fixes.
