Name Dash
The name-chain party game
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Bring 2–12 friends together for fast name-chain fun. Beat the clock, keep lifetime stats, and move your game history between iPhone, iPad, and Android.
Big names. Fast brains. Your next game night starts here.
Name Dash is a local party game for 2–12 players. Gather around one iPhone or iPad, name someone everyone knows, and keep the chain alive before the timer runs out.
ONE SIMPLE RULE
Start with a famous person or character who has a first and last name. The next player's first name must start with the first letter of the previous last name. James Bond leads to Betty White, then Will Smith. Your group decides whether everyone recognizes the name.
SET YOUR OWN PACE
Choose 15, 30, 45, or 60 seconds per turn. Play with one life, three lives, or endless turns. Enable the no-repeat rule for a fresh challenge. Pass the device between players and start each timer when the next player is ready.
KEEP THE BRAGGING RIGHTS
Save player profiles and build a lifetime scorecard across games. Track games played, wins, names, passes, timeouts, and average and fastest responses. Find your most-used names, see starting-letter trends, and revisit every game and name chain.
PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
Pause whenever you need a break. An unfinished game is saved on your device, and the timer pauses when you leave the app.
TAKE YOUR HISTORY WITH YOU
Export your profiles, games, and statistics as a JSON backup. Import them on another iPhone or iPad, or move your history between the iOS and Android versions of Name Dash. Imports merge compatible records and skip duplicates. Transfers are manual, so you choose when and where to save your backup.
PLAY TOGETHER, OFFLINE
No accounts, ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. Your group plays together on one shared device, and your game data stays on that device unless you export it.
Bring your favorite people. Think of a familiar name. Let the last name lead.
