Devices on your network are easier to recognise. - More devices get a name: PingKit now asks each device directly for the name it announces, so smart plugs, bulbs, TVs and consoles that never showed a name do. - Labels stay with the device: a device keeps its name and label when its address changes. - Router-only networks are explained: when only your router answers, PingKit says the Wi-Fi may be keeping devices apart instead of showing an empty list. - Hardware addresses from the right source: the Mac Agent's hardware addresses are shown as such, and the vendor is now the maker a device reports about itself rather than its network chip. - Faster, calmer scans: one connection sweeps the network with less traffic, and Thread and Matter devices appear over IPv6. - Local Network access is checked before a scan, and Shortcuts ask you to open PingKit when it has not been allowed yet.

PingKit 3.2.1 gives Guardian a weekly report and makes Uptime Watch clearer. Every Monday at 9:00, Guardian subscribers get a short report of what PingKit recorded the week before: alerts from your Mac, certificates that need attention, and the websites and sessions you watch. Tap it to open Reports. You can turn it off in Info. Some websites refuse automated checks. Uptime Watch now says so instead of showing the site as down, explains what happened and offers a fix: copy the name PingKit checks with so the site owner can allow it. If Uptime Watch alerts stopped reaching your iPhone, PingKit now repairs the connection to the alert service by itself.

PingKit 3.2 finds more of your devices and makes Guardian easier to start and to manage. The Devices tab now lists devices that answer but keep every port closed, such as phones and laptops with a firewall, so the list is closer to what is really on your network. When you start Guardian, a short "Set up Guardian" checklist on the Monitor tab helps you watch a website, turn on alerts, get your first Guardian result and pair your Mac. Two days before a free trial ends, PingKit tells you what Guardian did for you, when the trial renews and at what price. You can now open your subscription from Info. It shows when it renews or, if you turned renewal off, when it ends. Monthly subscribers can switch to yearly from their second month. If a payment fails, a banner on every tab helps you fix it before monitoring stops. Scan progress, Smart Diagnostics and more feature names now appear in your language, and the yearly saving uses the prices in your own currency.

PingKit 3.1.3 finds devices across larger home networks. If your network has more than the usual 254 addresses, up to 1,022, the Devices tab now scans all of it instead of only the part your iPhone is on. Scans are quicker on every network too, because addresses with nothing on them no longer hold the scan up. On an iPhone that can't write AI answers itself, setup now asks once whether PingKit's own service may write them. AI cards show a clear way to turn this on instead of staying empty. Error messages in Ping, Speed Test, Port Scanner, DNS and the other tools now appear in your language, and a speed test with no connection now says so. Domain & IP Lookup gives a clear answer for private and IPv6 addresses, and reads more country domains correctly. Uptime Watch now shows whether each site is online in your language.

PingKit 3.1.2 makes the first few minutes clearer. If Local Network access is switched off, the Devices tab now says so and opens PingKit's page in Settings, where the switch is, instead of showing an empty list and asking you to scan again. When a scan sees nothing at all, not even your router, it says so and tells you what to check. The permission requests now appear in your language. The Guardian screens now say plainly what each plan includes and what a trial turns into, and the AI messages about your free allowance are translated too. PingKit now follows Reduce Motion, some text is easier to read against its background, and VoiceOver announces selected options and section headings. You can also start Guardian straight from PingKit's App Store page. It also fixes what we found after 3.1. Alerts now reach this iPhone if you turned notifications on later or moved to a new iPhone. Live Connection keeps its packet loss and stability score up to date during an outage instead of freezing. And the Security Scan no longer treats your mobile carrier's or VPN's address as your router.

PingKit 3.1 is for the moments you reach for a network app: a game that lags, a router you cannot see into, and a computer you left asleep at home. Session Watch, for gaming. Before you play, run a one-minute check and get a grade from A to F, with latency, jitter and packet loss. With Guardian, measure against the cloud region nearest your game for up to two hours, test lag under load, and find out whether the lag starts on your Wi-Fi or beyond your router. Keep PingKit open while you play: iOS does not let apps measure in the background. Router mode. Your router's status, public address, uptime and line rate, free and without a login. With Guardian, see every port your router forwards from the internet, explained, and remove what you do not want. Wake from anywhere. With Guardian and PingKit Agent on a Mac at home, wake a computer while you are away and see how long it took to answer. Put a wake button for each saved device in Control Center, or ask Siri to wake your computer. Guardian Plus adds sleep, restart and shut down for your Macs and Linux machines, over SSH with a key that never leaves your iPhone. Cameras on your network. With Guardian, the Security Scan lists the cameras on your own network, how each was identified, and whether it answers from the internet. Uptime Watch and Cert Monitor, rebuilt. Guardian checks 10 websites or servers every 5 minutes, including a TCP port or the text a page must contain, and watches 5 certificates. Guardian Plus watches 50, and can send these alerts by email, with a summary every Monday, or to a webhook. With a Mac at home, Guardian adds a morning briefing of what changed overnight, alerts for the devices you choose, a 30-day timeline, and a scan or speed test run from anywhere. Guardian Plus adds 90 days and several Macs. Tapping an alert now opens the screen it is about, and the assistant now knows your monitors and can point you to the feature you are asking for. Fixed: with mobile data on, the Security Scan could report ports as open on your own public address when your carrier, not your router, had answered. Ping no longer stops after a single lost reply.

Ask PingKit is now the hero of the Home screen. Type a question about your own network in plain language, and the answer is built from your own measurements: the devices you have, your last security scan and your speed history. The assistant can now run the measurement for you. Ask why things feel slow and it offers to run a speed test. Ask what is on your network and it offers to scan it. It only ever offers a tool your own network can answer with, and nothing runs until you tap to allow it. "Explain This Result" is now on the tools people actually finish, so a traceroute, a DNS lookup or a speed test can be put into plain words without leaving the screen. Point your camera at a device to identify it. The photograph is read on your iPhone and never leaves it. A new gallery previews every widget PingKit offers, and a new screen lists every phrase Siri answers to. Speed Test and Ping Gateway join Control Center, the connection fits on the Lock Screen, and a running speed test or ping shows its progress in the Dynamic Island. Answers are generated on your iPhone wherever it can, which costs you nothing. Guardian adds Apple's Private Cloud Compute for the harder questions. Every answer tells you which one produced it. You are asked before anything measured leaves your iPhone for PingKit's own service, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.

Ask the assistant about your network and it now answers from what PingKit actually knows: your DNS provider, the devices you have, your last security scan, and how today compares with normal. It also says plainly when something cannot be measured on an iPhone, and where to find it instead. Ask what encryption your Wi-Fi uses and it will explain that Apple does not share that with apps, then point you at your router or the Mac Agent. The assistant remembers the conversation, so follow-up questions work. The suggested questions are new as well, and you only see the ones your own network can answer. Security Scan results about DNS, certificates and captive portals now appear in your language. They had been English everywhere.

A compatibility update for people who use the Mac Agent. The latest macOS stopped giving apps the hardware addresses PingKit used to tell one device from another, so your Mac now identifies devices by what they publish about themselves. This update teaches your iPhone to read that, and keeps every mirrored device a row of its own. Update the Mac Agent to 1.5 as well. The two work together.

The Mac Agent screen is rebuilt. Four of its seven cards were a second copy of things the app already shows you, and it reported your device count twice from two sources that disagreed. It now answers one question: is your Mac watching, and what did it catch while you were away. Pairing is no longer hidden behind an unlabelled icon. The screen names both connections separately, iCloud sync and the local link, because they fail for different reasons, and it says in one sentence what pairing actually gets you. Numbers are no longer stated before they are measured. Home says how old a speed reading is instead of presenting it as current, and Connection Monitor no longer shows a perfect score and zero packet loss before taking a single sample. Smaller things: Bonjour services are named properly instead of "HAP.TCP", counts read "1 open port" rather than "1 open ports", your iPhone no longer appears twice in its own device list, and the keyboard no longer covers the answer on four tools.

Pairing with your Mac Agent now works the way the app describes it. Your iPhone keeps looking for your Mac instead of asking once and giving up, so you no longer need the 6-digit code as a fallback. Visual Traceroute no longer sends carrier-grade NAT hops to the location lookup. On Starlink and mobile broadband that means a faster map and one less address leaving your phone. More of the app speaks your language. 26 places showed an English word even when the translation was already there.

Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Reports, rebuilt and in one place. • PDF, CSV and JSON export now live on a single Reports screen, reachable from Monitor and from History, and it tells you what the report will contain before you make one. • The exported PDF came out as white text on a white page when your phone was in dark mode. Fixed, and now covered by a test. • The network report names the devices it found, shows who made them and what kind of device they are, and prints your last security check in full rather than just its score. • Speed test latency was shown a thousand times too small. Corrected, including for tests you have already run. Also in this release: • VoiceOver reads 29 controls by name instead of by icon, and several colours and charts have been brought above the contrast standard. • Both widgets, and every Security Scan result, were English in 27 languages. They are now translated. • Bonjour names could land on the wrong device, and a speaker group could take over the name of one of its members. • Security checks that could not run were being counted as passes. They now report that they did not run. • Speed tests run by the Mac Agent now appear on your iPhone. All 19 tools stay free, with unlimited history and CSV, JSON and PDF export.

Bug fixes and stability improvements.

This release makes the Mac Agent work the way PingKit has always described it. • Your Guardian subscription now unlocks PingKit Agent on your Mac. A fault meant iPhone subscriptions were never sent through to the Mac, so the Agent kept asking people to buy something they had already paid for. If that happened to you, installing this update is all it takes, and there is nothing to buy again. • Pairing your iPhone with your Mac no longer needs a code. Both apps use your own private iCloud account to find each other, so you confirm your Mac by name instead of memorising six digits. The code is still there as a fallback. • Pairing used to report success no matter what was typed. Any six digits produced "Paired successfully" and then nothing worked. Pairing now succeeds only when the two devices have genuinely connected, and says so plainly when they have not. • Pairing now works with every keyboard PingKit supports. Number keyboards that produce full-width or Arabic-Indic digits used to fail without explanation. • Unpairing now closes the connection instead of leaving it open. • If two Macs are running the Agent on one network, you now choose which one to pair with rather than getting whichever answered first. • Cert Monitor is now free for one domain, permanently, expiry alerts included. It could previously only be seen by Guardian Plus subscribers. • Cert Monitor and Uptime Watch could get stuck on a sign-in error that nothing on the device could clear. They now recover on their own. • Reaching an AI usage limit is now explained on screen. Subscribers previously saw nothing happen at all. • Getting PingKit for Mac no longer sits behind the Guardian paywall. The Agent is a free download. All 19 tools, your full history and its CSV, JSON and PDF exports stay free and unlimited.

This release is about reliability. • The Devices tab now names the maker of far more devices. iOS hides the hardware address PingKit used to rely on, so the brand is now read from what each device already broadcasts about itself. • Wide networks now scan. If your network is larger than a typical home setup, the Devices tab used to refuse to scan at all. It now covers your own segment instead of giving up. • The Devices tab no longer retries a scan that has already failed every time you come back to it, which was costing battery and getting nowhere. • HTTP Analyzer now works with local addresses such as http://router and http://nas.local, and explains clearly when iOS blocks a plain http:// address instead of showing a system error. • VoiceOver now reads the Tools list, the Home dashboard tiles and the Speed Test results correctly. • Traceroute no longer reports a route it mapped successfully as a failure. • Better reporting of why a tool failed, so real faults are easier to find and fix. PingKit Guardian just became a great deal more useful. This release adds a layer of network intelligence on top of the free tools you already use. Nothing moved behind the paywall to make room for it. • Where the problem is: your device, your network, your router, your provider, or beyond. One clear answer instead of a list of steps. • Watch Mode: re-runs the check on a loop, so a drop that never happens while you are testing finally has somewhere to show up. • Compared with normal: PingKit learns what each of your networks usually does, then tells you when a result is genuinely off. • Since your last checkup: what changed, which device it belongs to, and where your security score moved. • Fix It walkthrough: an ordered checklist for your exact router, with your progress saved between scans. • Trends: speed, latency, jitter and security score, charted per network. Device detection and classification improvements PingKit now identifies more of the devices on your network, and gets their type right more often. • Recent Mac models, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and HomePod are identified by model. • Smart TVs, streaming boxes, speakers, printers and smart home accessories are detected more reliably. • Phones, tablets and laptops now appear under Family instead of Work. • Far fewer devices are left as Unknown.
