SoaringForecast

New England and Mifflin

Free · Designed for iPad

SoaringForecast provides weather forecast information of interest to glider pilots for the New England and Mifflin areas. Turnpoints can be downloaded and used to create tasks, and a task can be overlaid on the forecast. Soundings, special use airspace, and turnpoints can also be overlaid on the forecast. Tapping on a turnpoint will display an overhead view of the turnpoint. Long press on a turnpoint, taskturnpoint or map location will provide a local forecast graph. Task estimates (task time, estimated tail/head winds, ground speed, thermalling estimates) can be calculated based on selected model/date/time. METARs/TAFs come from 1800wxbrief. Authorizing your 1800WxBrief account to allow SoaringForecast to request briefs, you can get a local or task briefing (based on current selected task)

  • This app has not received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

1800WxBrief can now be obtained for a task including non-airport turnpoints. Fix for Task Estimates.
