Unlike many other recipe unit converters, Useful Units is smart and also knows about the specific weight of many ingredients. This way, you can convert between volumes and weights seamlessly! KEY FEATURES: RECIPE SCANNER & AUTOMATIC TEXT RECOGNITION A recipe in cookbook or on your favourite blog? Useful Units isn’t picky: Take a picture of the recipe or just load a screenshot of it. ALL THE UNITS Currently, the Useful Units Recipe Converter recognizes the following units with most of their common abbreviations: * Units of Volume: Liters (as well as deciliters, centiliters and milliliters), tablespoons, teaspoons; drops, pinches and dashes as well as sticks (for all things buttery). Furthermore US and Imperial fluid ounces, gills, cups, pints, quarts and gallons. * Units of Weight: Kilograms (as well as grams and milligrams), pounds, slugs and ounces. If you think that’s not enough: Let us know! If you think that’s too many: Never mind! Just don’t select them in the menu and they won't be displayed! INGREDIENTS DATABASE Is a cup of salt heavier than a cup of flour? Certainly so! The Useful Units Recipe Converter knows the density (yay, science!) of more than 300 of the most common baking and cooking ingredients, so you don’t have to worry about these things when converting. What about all the other ingredients? No problem: Just tell the app what category it belongs to and the app will do the rest for you. SCALING YOUR RECIPE Double or quadruple the recipe’s amounts? I preferred the name “Useful Units”, much easier to search for. Somehow it has been renamed to Converter, could you bring back the old name? :)Anyway, the app is very simple to use and convenient for baking. Though it did suddenly delete one of my saved recipes, I still appreciate that it exists.
