Arcane Rush is a very nice autobattler that has recently gotten a series of improvements that brought me back after several months of absence. I‘ve been playing now for several days, and from my perspective it has all the good parts of, for example, HS Battlegrounds, minus the bad parts - meaning mainly that there is no time pressure. The cool thing is that you still play against other players, just not live. They call it „asynchronous PvP“ ;) How it roughly works is: while you are playing, the game server remembers and stores your decks, and it then puts them up as opponents for other players to play against while you are offline. This means you (and other players) can take all the time you want to think before making your decisions. I like that a lot. If you prefer faster play you can still burn through your turns, of course. The only issue I have with the app is that on the iPad where I play, the app does not rotate when I turn the tablet 180° degrees so that it‘s in Portrait position but upside down. I prefer that position when the power cable is connected because the cable then is not in danger of being broken at the connector. Even greater would be if I could play in Landscape orientation. Currently 4/5 stars, when the rotation is improved I would give 5/5 ;)

After several months of playing, my opinion of Arcane Rush has unfortunately changed a lot.The game is genuinely fun and has a lot of potential, but eventually you hit a progression wall that feels like it can only realistically be broken with a credit card. The asynchronous matchmaking system makes the problem even worse. You’re not playing against people live; you’re fighting saved compositions from other players’ completed runs. This means you’re constantly facing highly optimized teams, because, naturally, the teams being saved are often some of the strongest compositions players managed to build. And once you reach a certain level, this becomes incredibly frustrating.New powerful cards are constantly being released, while as a F2P player you simply cannot reliably collect everything through the gacha system. So you end up facing optimized compositions containing powerful cards you don’t even have access to yet.The result? You can play well, get lucky and maybe finish Top 3 or Top 4, earning around 20 tiny ranking points. Then, in the very next game, RNG decides not to give you the cards you need, you finish around Top 12, and those points disappear immediately.Even worse, you regularly encounter the same usernames across completely different runs, with the same broken compositions. Combined with asynchronous matchmaking, this makes some sessions feel like you’re repeatedly fighting a catalogue of optimized meta teams rather than competing on equal terms. And then there are quests asking you to finish 1st place twice. At higher ranks, without access to the strongest cards, this can go from challenging to absurdly frustrating. Some days that quest makes me want to throw my phone out the window more than it makes me want to keep playing.Arcane Rush has a great concept, but after a few months the experience increasingly feels pay-to-win / pay-to-fast. Strategy and RNG obviously still matter, but collection strength becomes far too important.I don’t mind supporting a good free-to-play game. What I do mind is reaching a point where spending money starts feeling less like an option and more like the solution to the progression system. The matchmaking, ranking rewards and F2P card acquisition desperately need better balancing.

Arcane Rush was a great game. Epic Games got greedy and stole everyone progression, recrafting the game in a non sense gacha. Sad

Autsch!!! War ein Top Game...Das neue Update hat das Spiel so verändert, leider zum schlechten!!!!
