Velastar is an immersive stargazing and sky exploration app for iPhone and iPad. Using your observing location, date and time, and device orientation, Velastar calculates the sky above you in real time. Raise your device to identify stars, constellations, planets, the Sun, and the Moon—or travel across time and experience the sky from Earth, the Moon, Mars, and Europa. Adjust the year, month, day, hour, and minute, or play the movement of the sky continuously. Earth’s sky can be visually explored from 999 BCE to 3000 CE. Historical and far-future views are visual simulations for learning and exploration. They are not intended for precision research or navigation.
