"Recent Items" lists all your recently accessed files and intelligently sorts them. It classifies all your recently accessed files under different categories like Images, Documents, Videos, Audios, Folders, Apps and others.
You probably have a lot of apps, documents and other files on your Mac, but you actually access a few very frequently. This little nifty tool adds a useful, but hidden, feature: a quick window that appears on pressing your preferred shortcut key and allows you to access your recent apps and documents right from your desktop.

With the Quick Recent Items window that appear on the Desktop, you can instantly access recent, favorite, or open folders; navigate through files with hierarchical pop-up menus, and recall recent actions.

Since "Recent Items" app tracks every file, app, and folder you’ve recently worked on, you can exclude some files, folders to specific type of files that can be excluded from the list of recently used items.

Drag and drop any file from the Recent Items Panel to any other app and share quickly.

Just hit space on a selected file in the Recent Items panel and get a quick look preview for the selected file.
