Word crafting puzzle joy that never wears off! Combine letters to create words. Survive as long as you can in Endless mode, or play against others in Multiplayer! Words in Progress offers: - A unique new word game - Single player endless mode - Multiplayer asynchronous mode - Long and steady learning curve - Clean, cozy and crisp design - Fun for all ages - Multi-language support A game of Words in Progress starts with seven letters vertically aligned on the screen. It’s up you to combine these letters into words. When a letter is removed from its position and attached to letters in another row, the empty spot is filled with a new letter from your pile. When you submit a word, the same thing happens. Words in Progress has a few game modes: single player Endless mode, Practice mode, and Multiplayer mode. In single player Endless Mode, you try to stay in the game as long as possible. To prevent your letter pile from emptying and going game over, you will need to complete different word-length challenges. In Multiplayer mode, you and your opponent both have 40 letters to start with. Will you add new letters to words that are still in progress to try and create a long word, and risk ending up with an incomplete and invalid word? Or will you succeed, and reap the high reward for long words? Playing it safe by ‘cashing in’ shorter but valid words is another strategy to consider, but you'll have to play smart to defeat your opponent!

Good Brain Exercise

I like this Scrabble-type game because it keeps my brain alert and it’s fun creating the longest word possible. There is a learning curve because the letters you receive are a gamble. You might end up with all vowels at the end so you learn how to build partial words then connect them together but always leaving your options open for the remaining letters. I like the random opponent game and afterwards when looking at the score I also look at the words the other player created to expand my vocabulary. The game includes wild cards but it will make up a different word than what you had in your mind. You still earn points when submitting it but you have no idea what the word means! It’s a fun game and is challenging but it’s not time consuming unless you can’t walk away from the opponent challenge. I play this game through my Apple Arcade subscription so it’s not looking for all your money like other games. Give it a try!

It's a low risk, high reward strategy and probably the best way to play the game.Our wild cards will always try to create a valid word regardless of points or outcome, so sometimes they can come up with words that are unknown to the player. Do note that they are malleable, and they will change if you add additional letters to that word. Great word game!

Addicting, bite sized game length, and fun gameplay. Some suggestions: The word list is way too “pg13”. Allow people to opt out of “mature dictionary” like other games. Many legitimate words are not allowed. It would benefit from an undo button (maybe 3 per game limit), as it’s very easy to accidentally commit. I wish you could re arrange the “levels” more freely, especially when you are close to the end. A horizontal or less structured way of arranging would be nice. It would be great to have an average score for multiplayer and a high tile in multiplayer in stats. Great start!

Awesome Game, But Heats up My Phone

I don’t know what the other reviewer is talking about saying there’s no tutorial. That’s literally what happens the *moment* you first open the game. And it’s a very well-done and helpful tutorial!The game itself is AWESOME! I love it! There is only 1 thing that’s keeping me from giving it that final star:My phone gets *very* warm while playing, and it’s definitely not a game that should be processor-heavy. I have an iPhone 12 Pro, so not new, but not all that old, either, and it handles much more graphics-heavy games just fine.Just a suggestion of 2 possible new features (one for endless mode): First, have more of a variety of tasks to complete to earn more tiles than just “submit a word with X number of letters”. Nothing too complicated, and not too frequently, but maybe something like “submit a word with the letter Y” or something along those lines.Second, I wish there was an undo button, so you can backtrack just *one* move. Sometimes I think I’ve dropped a letter in the slot I wanted and realize too late that I went a little too fast and dropped it in the wrong place. Or my fat thumbs screw me up.If you can optimize the game so it doesn’t overheat my phone and kill my battery, though: instant 5 stars! The other 2 things are just more of a “this would be nice to have” type of suggestion.Keep up the good work, guys!

Hi! Thank you for your extensive feedback. We are currently not aware of any systematic overheating / heating issues with devices. Our game is relative low energy consuming (although the word-lookup can get pretty processor intensive), but we will look into this for sure. If you have additional info, please use the Support button in the game to contact us, we'd be happy to look into it (Settings -> Support).We are also working on a 'merge-delay option' that requires an extra tiny step before a word is permanently merged, so we can prevent players from accidentally merging words. This way we don't need an undo button (as an undo button would kind of spoil the next letter). Hopefully you can appreciate this addition when we roll it out in our next update.Endless (and other future game modes) are always under review and we hope we can keep improving (and expanding) our game modes. Stay tuned and thank you for playing.

Love the game, one small suggestion

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I hope this will be seen. The game is great, I love it. It’s quick to get through games with others, the daily is quick, and endless allows me to come and go. It can be frustrating when certain letters just don’t show up in a set, but that’s the nature of the game and not a knock. My suggestion relates to the dragging of words to the top for scoring. On more than a couple occasions I’ve been dragging a word up for scoring and my finger slips or phone doesn’t register fully and I combine a great word with a letter or set of letters that ruins the word. I understand and “undo” button would kind of ruin the point, but if there is anyway to address accidentally combing a word like “suspecting” with the letters “ye” when dragging to score, it would be amazing. I know I’m not the only one, and perhaps there is no good fix, but felt like a good suggestion.

Hi! Thank you for your suggestion! We agree that the impact of a simple finger slip can be very harsh. Therefore we've worked on a 'Merge Confirm' feature that can be toggled in the Settings. This feature allows players to 'confirm' every tile merge manually, so accidental merges or act-before-you-think merges can be either confirmed or reverted.The 'Merge Confirm' feature will roll out in our next (soon!) coming update, so stay tuned!
