The 12 Volt QC Checklist was originally built and designed with the 12 volt community in mind, but can easily be adapted to many other industries with its completely adjustable checklist. James, the owner of ACT Audio in Vernon CT, was inspired to create this app after a couple of situations prompted it.
The first situation was when his business grew and his partner and him had separated, he had to hire employees and started to realize that not everyone cares as much as he does. He wanted to make sure that the behind the scenes work was up to par with his standards and was looking for a way to capture and monitor this. Realizing he was also spending more time with warranty work with these employees he wanted a way to ensure the work was done right the first time.
The Second main situation was when a customer returning after 2 years claimed a wire nut was used in an install, the dealership claiming it was the fault of a wire nut, despite the customer claiming that no one else has touched the car besides the dealership. Knowing the shop didn’t even have that product, had no way to defend himself – no visual or written documentation of final production. James knowing he was in the right but didn’t want a pointless argument started to brainstorm what he could do to prevent this in the future. The app with time stamped photos was the right answer!
