ALT text with one click, right where you post. ALTtext puts a "Generate with ALTtext" button directly inside the ALT text field on: • Bluesky • X / Twitter • Facebook Attach an image, open the platform's ALT text field, and the button is already there. One click writes an accurate, accessible description in place — no copying, no switching tabs, no excuses. Support for Instagram, Mastodon, Threads, and more is rolling out. WORKS ON EVERY OTHER SITE TOO Right-click any image on any page → "Generate ALT text with ALTtext." The description appears instantly, ready to copy. BUILT FOR BLIND AND LOW-VISION USERS AS WELL ALTtext isn't just for people adding descriptions — it's for people who need them. Meet an uncaptioned image and generate the description yourself: results are announced to your screen reader (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS) and receive focus, so you hear the description immediately instead of depending on whoever posted it. WHY ALT TEXT MATTERS The WHO estimates 2.2 billion people live with vision impairment. For millions using screen readers, ALT text IS the image — and most images on the web still have none. ALTtext removes the last excuse. FREE TO USE The core generator is free every day, no account needed. ALTtext Pro lifts the limits for people who post at volume — and keeps the free tier running for the next person. PRIVACY Images you describe are sent to the ALTtext engine only to generate the description. Nothing is stored, tracked, or shared. Your history stays in your browser. From alttext.org — a public resource for image accessibility.
