BigWrite Markdown App Update BigWrite Markdown App 2.0 is a massive update, and it's all dressed up for Liquid Glass. Every part of the app is greatly improved and is ready for whatever you can throw at it. Here is a list of features that will take your writing to the next level: • Tabs: Now, you can open multiple documents at the same time with the use of tabs. These tabs are remembered when you close and reopen the app. Never lose your workspace again. • Search: Click the search button and search for anything across all your documents. Search results are also in large print. Each search result shows the document it is in and the context with the search term highlighted. • Gestures: With two fingers, swipe right to reveal the sidebar and left to enter preview mode. There is full trackpad support as well. • Export: You can export to HTML, RTF, and PDF. On Mac, you can open your file directly in Safari so you can see how it will look on the web. You can also copy the HTML code if you prefer. • Text-to-speech: The Play button has a context menu that allows you to pause, restart, and stop. More features will be added to this in future updates. If you context-click on a word, you will discover an option that enables speech from that spot in the document. This speech function works in the background, even with the display off. • Context menu options: There is a full suite of options for styling your text. You don't have to know the markdown shortcuts. It has everything from links to strikethrough to superscript, and so much more. • Universal: The app is now fully ready for both iPad and Mac. No workarounds are needed. • Dark mode: The color scheme has been simplified, and there is a button for both dark and light mode that is independent of the system settings. • Snapshots: You can now back up your files and folders via snapshots. This allows you to revert to an older version if needed. You can create as many snapshots as you want. It is one of those features that you don't know you need until you need it. • Keyboard control: Many writers prefer to only interact with the keyboard instead of a pointing device. Now there are keyboard controls for almost every feature. Also, the onscreen tools contain all the functionality of the app in the event you are using the app exclusively by touch. Context menus are your friend. This app represents a complete renovation. It is more accessible than ever and more useful than ever as your writing app of choice regardless of ability. Because this app is being actively developed, expect updates with new features and refinements. Perhaps the best news is that it is now free.
