Now Playing, at any text size. With a larger Text Size, Now Playing makes room for the track’s title and details instead of cutting them off, and with Button Shapes on, its buttons get a thin outline instead of grey shapes. Your grip stays out of it. The hand holding your iPhone no longer restarts the track: a touch that begins right at the side of the screen no longer presses ◄◄, ►►, − or +. Also in this release: Now Playing draws the album cover once instead of again on every update, so it does less work while it’s on screen.

Every artist and album in its place. Artists and albums whose names start with an accented or non-Latin letter now appear in their lists — Édith under E, Ólafur under O, names in other scripts under # — and names beginning “The” file under their main word. Volume in decibels. Now Playing shows Fidelia’s volume in decibels. Also in this release: the scrubber stays under your finger while you drag it, and a track with no known length reads “--” instead of 0:00.
