Introducing Ask, a new way to explore your books.
• New "Ask" tile in the Library: Submit a question in your own words, and Ask finds the passages that speak to it
• Every passage is the author's own words, quoted from the book it appears in and cited by title and section
• Tap a passage to read more, or open the book at the place it came from, where you can read the surrounding section
• Ask searches all six books: If your question has nothing to do with them, it says so rather than offering passages that miss the point
• Passages come only from the books, never from the internet
• Everything happens privately on your device and works fully offline
• Suggested questions help you discover what Ask can do
• The Resources tile on the Home screen now opens a menu with the Windows on the Prophecy of Isaiah extracts and one tile marked coming soon. Opening the extracts shows a note that they will be removed in a coming version, since most of their material is in the free Windows on the Prophecy of Isaiah book and audio in the Library.
• The About screen now displays the version and build date you're running at the bottom, along with a link to the App Store listing.
• In the Book of Isaiah chapter list, a bookmarked chapter shows a mark for each text it is bookmarked in, and a new info button explains what all the marks mean.
• In the Interactive tab, tapping a verse reference in a word's list now opens that verse instead of returning you to where you started.
• Tapping a Bible cross-reference in the commentary now highlights every verse it names, including the verses inside a range and each verse in a list. A reference to a whole chapter opens it unmarked, and the marks clear when you page on to another chapter.
• In dark mode, a Bible chapter or a single verse opened from the commentary now keeps the dark bar at the top of the screen, so the time and battery stay readable.
• Transliterated Hebrew in the scripture footnotes now displays correctly.
• Buying a book now works in any orientation, and the Purchase, Confirm Purchase, Submit, and bookmark Edit buttons are legible in dark mode.
• On iPad, the Home and Library tiles now fit on the screen in both portrait and landscape, with every tile's name in view.
• On iPad, the Book of Isaiah's tabs no longer cover the toolbar after you switch between them, so text size and bookmarks stay within reach.
• On iPad, the arrows on a King James chapter now move that chapter forward and back. They had been acting on the screen behind it, so the chapter stayed where it was.
• On iPad, the Home, Book of Isaiah, and Library bar no longer appears at the top of the screen, matching iPhone.
• On smaller iPhones, such as iPhone 8 and iPhone SE, the Library tiles and the Send Feedback choices are no longer cut off at the bottom of the screen.
Please note: if you are updating from version 1.x, this update includes everything in 2.0.0, including rebuilding Apocalyptic Commentary of the Book of Isaiah and Windows on the Prophecy of Isaiah into real chapter divisions. Anything you saved against their old, undivided text now points nowhere: the first time you open your library, bookmarks and highlights in those two books are cleared, and both books reopen at the beginning rather than where you left off. Your bookmarks, highlights, and reading place in the other four books remain untouched, and your purchases carry over across all books. If you are already on 2.0.0, this happened when you updated, and nothing else will change now.
Isaiah Explained requires iOS 16.4 or later.
