Janthri is the definitive Kashmiri Hindu calendar app, built for the global Kashmiri Pandit community. Whether you are in Srinagar, Delhi, New York, or London, Janthri gives you precise, astronomically-calculated tithi dates, traditional Kashmiri festivals, and personalized lunar reminders, right in your pocket. PRECISE ASTRONOMICAL CALCULATIONS Unlike generic Hindu calendar apps, Janthri uses real astronomical algorithms (Meeus-based Sun and Moon ecliptic longitude calculations) aligned to Srinagar sunrise times. Every tithi, paksha, and Hindu month is calculated, not looked up from a static table. The engine correctly handles complex cases like Kshaya (dropped) Tithis and Adhika Masa (leap months). Added two traditional Shraadh calculation methods — Madhyaan (Ekoddishta) for annual death anniversaries and Parvana for collective offerings. Added Zarmasatam with authentic Kashmiri astronomical logic, Zang Trayi, and Nirjala Ekadashi to the festival calendar. The calendar now correctly displays multiple festivals on the same day. Fixed several notification issues: the global notifications toggle now correctly cancels all reminder types, a startup race condition that silently wiped tithi reminders, and Kshay Tithi scheduling. All reminders are now consistently delivered at 8:00 AM. Kambir Pach dates now match the printed Kashmiri Janthri. General bug fixes and performance improvements.
