Linewright is screenwriting on iPad that opens, works, and stays out of your way.
Write your script in Fountain plain text or import a Final Draft (.fdx) file. The editor auto-formats as you type — sluglines, action, characters, dialogue, parentheticals, transitions. Sluglines stay in caps. The dashes stay where you put them. The script is a .fountain file. It opens in any text editor. It always will.
When you're ready, export a production-correct PDF in US Letter or A4 with every MORE and CONT'D in the right place. Or send it back to Final Draft as .fdx — round-trip clean. Watermarking, Revisions, Cast all preserved.
Real iPad-native. Built for iPad Pro and iPad Air. Apple Pencil for read-pass annotation. Multi-window for two scripts side-by-side. Stage Manager works the way you expect. iCloud Drive syncs your folders without garbling the file.
Outline mode with index cards. Drag scenes to find the shape. Save the Cat beat sheet template if that's your thing. Scene navigator. Find and Replace that doesn't render off-screen. A title page editor that doesn't lose your contact info.
About the AI: Linewright includes a Character Voice Check that reads your character's dialogue across the whole script and tells you when their voice drifts. It runs on Apple Foundation Models, entirely on your iPad. Nothing leaves your device. It gives craft feedback — never rewrites your dialogue, never suggests next lines, never produces pages. You're the writer. This is a second pass.
Honest about scope: v1 ships with Character Voice Check. Scene Summary, Scene Card Brainstorm, Character & Location Index, and Table Read TTS are coming in v1.1 — free, because you already bought it.
Made for screenwriters who actually write on iPad. The ones who've tried Final Draft Go and gone back to Notes. The ones writing on the couch at 10:47pm. The ones who don't want to subscribe to something that keeps shipping bugs the incumbent has known about for years.
Buy once. Write forever.
One-time purchase. No subscription. Lifetime updates.
