Step into the past with NAXOS AR, a free augmented reality app with audio narration, bringing the ancient Naxos Portara with the Temple of Apollo to life. Whether you're at home or standing at the historic site, witness the temple of Apollo as it would have been in the time of its glory. Based on designs by renowned archaeologists and historically documented information, the 3D model recreates the temple's grandeur as it would have been in the times of its glory. Discover the rich history of the Cyclades, the significance of Portara, and immerse yourself in the architectural marvel of the ancient temple of Apollo.
Naxos AR is a free mobile and tablet app developed by technology company MOPTIL as part of the Naxos Smart Island Pilot Initiative, powered by AWS. The 3D reconstructions of the Temple have been supervised by Mr. Panos Valavanis, Emeritus Professor of Classical Archeology at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. The narration and digital representation of the Monument carry the approval of the Εphorate of Antiquities of Cyclades.
