The practical training for transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) depends on guidance from experienced physicians in a supervised clinical setting. Training opportunities are limited, and trainees often feel pressured because learning time is constrained by the discomfort of an awake patient. This application resolves these issues by enabling you to learn TEE at your own pace using high-fidelity echocardiography simulation. The app features a user interface designed to resemble a traditional TEE control module, enabling you to gain realistic familiarity with how various controls affect the echocardiographic image. It can automatically identify 28 standard views and alerts you when they are displayed correctly. The app also offers interactive guidance to help you adjust the control settings for each view accurately. These features make this application an invaluable tool for improving your TEE skills without stress or time constraints, anytime and anywhere you can use your iPhone. A key challenge in learning echocardiography is the complex spatial arrangement of cardiac structures, which can obscure the connection between echocardiographic imaging planes and cardiac anatomy. To overcome this, the app includes optional real-time annotations of all cardiac chambers, major vessels and valve leaflets, for any user selected orientation. With the self-assessment feature, you can easily test your skills anytime through quick and engaging assignments. The app automatically tracks your progress, creating a continuous record of your TEE skill level. It even identifies areas for improvement and adapts the assignments accordingly, ensuring a personalized, effective learning experience. Version 4.2 allows you to dim the dot indicators in the Herzogram, so you can practice reproducing all standard TEE views from the menu without any graphical guidance. Simply tap the Herzogram to hide the dots, and tap again to bring them back.
