Pairing now sticks. Your iPhone remembers the computer by name instead of by its network address, so when you restart the computer — or your router hands it a new address — the phone finds it again on its own. No more scanning the code every day. Connecting by QR is also more reliable on computers that run VirtualBox, VMware, WSL, Hyper-V, Docker or a VPN. 2.0.4 goes to users who already have 2.0.3, so this covers 53 -> 55 only. The 6-digit manual code is NOT mentioned: it is an Android path, and on iPhone the QR is still the only way in. A and Y have swapped seats in the built-in layouts. On a real controller A sits at the south position and Y at the north, and V-Pad had them the other way round — so a game that said "press A" was pointing at the wrong button. Every built-in layout is corrected. Custom layouts you designed yourself are left exactly as you drew them. The Espresso skin has been reworked: a full porcelain shell, a crema surface, and the steam is back on the badge. Connecting over Wi-Fi explains itself better. Where the app used to name a driver you had never heard of, it now walks you to step-by-step instructions on vpadcontroller.com, and the links go straight to the download rather than to a page you have to search. The About screen had gone stale — old wording, the product named inconsistently, and a missing licence credit. All three fixed.

Connecting is the big change. The V-Pad Helper on your computer shows a code, you scan it with the camera, and you are in. Pair once — from then on your iPhone reconnects to that computer by itself, with nothing to scan again. NO ADS The iPhone app no longer shows ads at all. Not fewer, not skippable — none. PAIRED, AND PRIVATE Only a phone that has scanned the code can reach your computer, so nobody else on the Wi-Fi can take over your controller. The key your phone keeps is no longer sent across the network in the clear. FOUR PLAYERS ON ONE PC Up to four phones can connect to the same Windows computer. Each one becomes its own controller and is told which player it is, right on the connection screen. On a Mac the pad still drives the keyboard and mouse, so a Mac takes one player.
