Destello is a quiet stargazing companion for the Canary Islands — home to some of the darkest, most stable skies in Europe. Browse a hand-picked map of viewpoints across La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, La Gomera, and El Hierro. Each spot includes notes on access, altitude, road conditions, what's visible overhead, and a touch of local history. WHAT'S INSIDE · A curated map and list of stargazing spots across all seven inhabited islands, with hand-written notes on each. · Tonight's sky panel — moon phase and illumination, moonrise and moonset, astronomical twilight, sunset and sunrise — calculated on device for either your current location or the specific spot you're viewing. · A live moon-phase visualisation that shows the lunar terminator in real time. · An upcoming-meteor-shower calendar covering the year's major showers — Perseids, Geminids, Leonids, Lyrids, and more — with peak dates, ZHR rates, and short descriptions. · Save your favourite spots for quick access, and opt in to gentle reminders before meteor showers and on new-moon nights — the darkest conditions of the lunar cycle. No daily noise, no spam. · Get Directions opens your preferred maps app with the spot's exact coordinates. DESIGNED FOR THE DARK The interface is dark-mode only, with warm amber accents tuned for peripheral-vision comfort once your eyes have adjusted to the night. No bright whites, no flashing alerts, no telemetry. Quiet by default. NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED The map, list, spot details, and Sky tab work fully without signing in. Sign in (with Apple, Google, or email) only if you want to save favourites or receive reminders. DESTELLO MEANS "TWINKLE" IN SPANISH A small gesture toward the Canary Islands' protected dark-sky reserves — La Palma's Roque de los Muchachos, Fuerteventura's first-in-the-world Starlight Reserve, and the quieter corners between them.
