In art, value (or tone) refers to how light or dark a colour is. If you're learning to paint or draw, doing value studies is one of the best ways to improve. These small, loose sketches in greyscale help you understand where shadows fall and highlights appear—essential for capturing depth and form.
Value Study is a simple, focused tool designed to help you see values more clearly in your reference images. Instead of just converting a photo to black and white, this app lets you break down tones step by step. Start with just black and white to map out the biggest shapes, then gradually add more values to refine your understanding. This is perfect for Plein Art.
You can also highlight all areas of an image that share the same value, making it easier to see subtle shifts in tone. This is especially useful in complex references, like portraits, where different parts of the image might have the same level of shadow but look completely different in colour.

La antigua opción Agregar a Fotos ha sido reemplazada por Exportar. Ahora puedes usar Exportar (en el menú de herramientas) para guardar en Fotos, utilizar la Hoja de Compartir o imprimir tus estudios de valor.

También incluye un comportamiento mejorado de zoom-out (útil para trazar) y una nueva configuración de Parpadeo para que el resaltado de selección sea más fácil de ver, especialmente al usar un proyector.

La actualización de hoy es pequeña, pero sienta las bases para lo que vendrá. La página de colecciones ahora está mejor adaptada para múltiples colecciones en lugar de solo la que se muestra actualmente. También hay una herramienta de Atribución en el menú de herramientas que mostrará el crédito y la fuente de la imagen cuando sea posible.

¡Nuevas funciones!
1) Modo de pantalla completa. Esto ha sido muy solicitado, encuéntralo en el menú de herramientas. Ocultará toda la interfaz hasta que salgas del modo de pantalla completa.
2) Navegar archivos. ¡Ahora puedes navegar por tu iPhone/iPad y iCloud directamente desde Value Study! A la derecha de Elegir imagen verás un menú de ... . Desde allí puedes acceder a la opción de navegar archivos. También he movido la opción Tomar foto a ese lugar.
También he actualizado la página de Información para soportar videos. Actualmente solo tiene el que estaba vinculando anteriormente, necesito volver a grabarlo ya que la aplicación ha mejorado mucho desde que hice el video.

Una pequeña mejora en la caja de herramientas de hoy. Ahora tienes 5 iconos de acceso rápido a herramientas junto a un menú de Herramientas donde están disponibles todas. ¡Esto es muy útil porque significa que puedo mostrar el nombre de la herramienta y no solo el icono! Así que ahora puedes hacer clic en la estrella (si aún tienes espacios libres de los 5) para añadirla a la caja de herramientas en la parte inferior de la pantalla.
