**Local Models**
Running offline local models requires an Apple Silicon device with a reasonable amount of memory.
Currently supported model types include: Cohere, Gemma, Gemma2, Gemma3, InternLM2, Llama / Mistral, OpenELM, Phi, Phi3, PhiMoE, Qwen2, Qwen3, Starcoder2, MiMo, and GLM4.
**Remote Models**
A complimentary model is included to help you get started right away. Please note that this is a best-effort service with rate limits, and availability is not guaranteed. For consistent and reliable access, we recommend setting up your own inference service on your own hardware.
We support all OpenAI-compatible service providers. This is particularly useful for connecting to services like Ollama and LM Studio hosted on your local machine or home lab, ensuring full privacy. Please be aware that setting up these services requires some technical knowledge. If you're unfamiliar with this process, we recommend consulting our documentation, as the app may be challenging otherwise.
