Crossify101 is an offline crossword game that grows your vocabulary and your cultural knowledge at the same time. Every puzzle blends two kinds of clues — real photos to identify and knowledge questions to answer — so you pick up people, places, science and language as you solve. It runs without an internet connection, never asks for a single permission, and includes zero tracking or ads.
12 LANGUAGES, FULLY SELF-CONTAINED
Play in Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), English, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, or Turkish. Each language has its own 24 themed packs of puzzles, its own letter picker matched to the script, and its own independent progress and points wallet. Switching languages does not reset what you've solved elsewhere.
TWO KINDS OF CLUES: PICTURES AND QUESTIONS
Most clues are knowledge questions and definitions — "bamboo-eating Chinese bear", "global network of networks", "soaring national raptor" — spanning science, history, literature, geography, nature, sports and technology. Woven through them are image clues: identify a world figure, a national flag, a famous landmark, a classic painting, a car badge or an animal from a real photo. Tap a word to see its clue and start typing on the on-screen letter bank.
LEARN WHILE YOU PLAY
The questions and pictures are curated to teach as you solve: every answer is a real word, name, place or fact worth knowing. By the time you finish a language you've met hundreds of figures, flags, landmarks and ideas — and the vocabulary that names them — without ever feeling like a textbook.
POINTS, HINTS AND MINI-GAMES
Every language starts you with a 10-point welcome bonus. Spend points on three tiers of hint when you're stuck: reveal one letter (1 point), reveal the written clue (2 points), or reveal the whole word (3 points). Running low? Win the points back in a quick mini-game — tic-tac-toe, rock-paper-scissors, dice roll, three cards, coin flip or higher-or-lower. Win a round and your wallet grows; it's a self-contained little economy, with nothing to buy and nothing to download.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
- Zero network requests. The app cannot make them — there is no HTTP stack on the runtime path.
- Zero permissions. No camera, no microphone, no location, no contacts. Open iOS Settings, find Crossify101, and you'll see no permission rows at all.
- Zero tracking. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising or attribution SDKs of any kind. Nothing leaves the device.
- All progress and points live locally in a single sandboxed file.
DIFFICULTY THAT GROWS WITH YOU
Each language ships 24 packs. The early packs are easy starters, the middle packs mix in medium-difficulty words and questions, and the final packs reach the harder vocabulary and tougher trivia. Inside each pack, levels also ramp up gradually — from 15 words toward 19 by the end of the pack. The letter bank shows only the letters actually needed for the level — never the full alphabet — so you're never staring at noise.
QUIET, FOCUSED, POLITE
Sound effects can be muted in one tap. The whole game is portrait-only on iPhone and iPad, no rotations, no surprise interruptions. There are no in-app purchases, no upsells, no notifications, no email signup.
