GitBar is a menu bar app that helps developers stay on top of pull requests across GitHub, GitLab, and Azure DevOps. No more switching between browser tabs: GitBar brings your pull requests, their status, and the actions you need into a streamlined, color-coded interface right in your macOS menu bar.
Key Features:
- Needs You Tab: GitBar opens to a tab that groups PRs by why they need you: your PR needs work, ready to merge, or blocked on you. The menu bar count shows the same number, so what you see is work that's actually yours.
- One-Click Merge: When a PR is approved, conflict-free, and CI is green, a Merge button appears on the card. One click merges it with your repository's default method.
- Menu Bar Urgency Dot: A colored dot next to the icon tells you what's waiting before you open GitBar: red when your PR needs work, orange when someone is blocked on you, green when a PR is ready to merge.
- Multi-Platform Support: Manage pull requests from GitHub, GitLab, and Azure DevOps, all in one place, with multiple accounts per provider.
- At-a-Glance Status: See pipeline/CI state, approval status, changes requested, merge conflicts, and draft status on every PR. No need to click through to find out if something is ready to merge.
- Reviewer Overview: Color-coded reviewer avatars instantly show who approved, who's waiting, and who requested changes.
- Snooze and Hide: Hover a PR to snooze or hide it. A snoozed PR comes back on its own the moment it gets a push, comment, or review. Both stay visible in the All tab.
- Mine, Review and All: Three more tabs for PRs you authored, PRs waiting on your review, and everything else, with customizable filters for drafts, bots, and stale PRs.
- Per-PR Notifications: One banner per PR, only when something changes: your review is requested, changes are requested, CI fails, conflicts appear, or your PR becomes ready to merge. Click it to open the PR.
- Compact or Detailed View: Switch between a dense one-line-per-PR layout and the full card view, depending on how many PRs you're tracking.
- Issues: Get GitHub issues in your GitBar overview, from the ones you created to the ones on your projects.
- Launch at Login: Set GitBar to launch automatically at login, so it's there when you need it.
