Hi all,
This version fixes an issue where the app would crash when saving a file to an iCloud location. It also fixes a rare crash that might happen when attaching files to the feedback form. In addition, I've also added support for macOS Big Sur and the new M1 Macs (yay!), prettified some icons a bit, and fixed a bug that occurred when duplicating a file. It also fixes an issue with an experimental "l33tspeak" mode that unexpectedly appears after updating to Big Sur (a leftover remnant from the app's early days when it was a pet project of mine and not something I planned to distribute).
As always, please don't hesitate to contact me at support@soundboardfx.com if you have any concerns or questions.

1.5.2 2020/12/20
Hey everyone! I hope you guys are staying safe, healthy, and sane in these crazy times.
I know there were a handful of frustrating bugs in the latest release, and I want to apologize for not fixing them earlier. I've been juggling college classes, a family illness, finding a new job, and recurring computer failures :( However, I've been working hard to fix the bugs you guys have reported to me (thanks!) and added a few new features that I think you'll like.
Here's what's new in 1.5.1:
• Added a small window that lists all sounds that have shortcuts
• Improved the Soundboard Info window
• Added a formatting bar for cue notes (enable/disable in the "Format" menu bar item)
• Fixed a crash related to setting shortcuts
• Fixed a crash when viewing the tutorial
• Added a new feedback form (available in the application menu under "SoundBoard FX" -> "Send Feedback...")
As always, I welcome your feedback and ideas! If there's anything I can do to make the app better, please let me know by emailing support@soundboardfx.com.
1.5.1 2020/07/19
I don't know about you, but I get tired of seeing the same old "bug fixes and performance improvements" update notes--so I decided to buck the trend. In this release, I added a bunch of bugs and decreased performance by a whopping 34.9% (no easy feat, mind you). From now on, the app will only open on alternate weekdays, effect names may be randomly translated to ancient runes, and some sounds will now have faint otherworldly wails added to them. (Did I say bugs? I may have meant curses :P)
Kidding!!! In this version, I fixed a number of bugs related to opening and saving files as well as a really tricky crash that would occur when opening files with lots of sound effects (a big thank you to Alex for helping me track that down!). I also added a file info window and a crash reporter dialog.
None of this would have been possible without your support and feedback. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please email me at support@soundboardfx.com or send me a Facebook message at m.me/SoundBoardFX. Enjoy and stay healthy!

Quick updates to fix a few bugs relating to window/document management as well as crashes during saving, and add some additional crash logging, plus macOS Catalina compatibility.
1.4.3 2020/01/07
In Which A User's Request Is Granted
A user contacted me asking if I could add support for importing many sounds at once (thanks Warren!). I have now done so and you can now add a whole buncha sounds at once :)
I also added some bugs and decreased performance. Or was it removed bugs and increased performance? I can't remember. Anyway, enjoy the update!
1.4.2 2018/12/07
In Which macOS Mojave Support is Added and Bugs Removed
By popular demand, I have added the ability to play sounds by double-clicking on the desired row! You can enable this behavior in the Settings window under the Playback tab.
If you're running macOS Mojave (10.14), I have some good news for you! SoundBoard FX is now completely compatible with Mojave, and there is a new option to allow Theatre Mode to override the default OS theme. Switching between modes is now faster and less buggy as well.
A few other bugs were fixed:
• A crash when trying to change the volume of a sound using the table slider has now been fixed.
• Some strange-looking graphical artifacts have been removed and now look much nicer.
• The stopwatch window should no longer open in the middle of the screen.

In Which Preparations Are Made For iOS and High Sierra
Howdy! I know it's been a looooong time since the last update, and for that, I apologize. I've been working on a number of exciting new changes:
What's New:
• Changed the format for saving sound files* in order to make soundboard files compatible with the soon-to-be-released iOS app(!!!)
• Slightly updated the details section layout
• Added the ability to undo certain actions (still working out the kinks on this)
What's Fixed:
• The app sometimes crashed when clicking on an empty portion of the sound list. It no longer does so.
• The custom font for the stopwatch/clock wasn't displaying properly. Since it's a very nice font and I went through a lot of trouble to find it, I made sure it would display correctly so we can all appreciate its awesomeness.
• Once a shortcut was set, the app would stubbornly refuse to save any shortcut changes to file. I have managed to convince the app to save the changes, and it acquiesced.
What's Changed:
• The sound level meter in the details section has been slightly modified to take advantage of High Sierra's new stacked meter view.
What's Next:
• Drag and drop reordering of sounds!
• Ability to drag sound files to the app to create a new sound effect
• Airplay output selection
• iOS app for playing your soundboards from your iPhone or iPad
*You may need to re-select sound files for sound effects that link to audio files that have moved or been deleted in order for your soundboard to be compatible with the upcoming iOS app.
**NOTE: Due to some strange bugs that have thus far eluded capture, I have temporarily raised the minimum system requirements to macOS High Sierra (10.13). A future release will restore compatibility <3
As always, if you have comments, concerns, criticism, or compliments, please email me at support@soundboardfx.com or message me via Facebook at facebook.com/SoundBoardFX :)
1.4.0 2017/12/04
This release fixes an issue where opening a soundboard file from Finder would cause the app to crash. Believe it or not, that was not what was supposed to happen. Instead, it now opens the file properly and correctly, as was originally intended.

Where a Long Overdue Update Finally Arrives, and an Explanation is Given
Hi, everyone. It's been quite a while since my last update, and I wanted to apologize for the delay. It's been a very hectic time for me, with college finals and the holiday season. Now that it's over, I've been able to focus more time and energy on solving these issues that have affected the last release. Unfortunately, there is still a glitch in Xcode that makes changing the user interface programming extremely difficult, and interactive debugging virtually impossible. I've been in contact with Apple Developer Support, but progress has been slow and I'm not optimistic that this will be resolved anytime soon.
In the meantime, I've tried to address some of the issues that have been communicated to me via Facebook, email, and App Store reviews:
• Crashing upon saving
• Theatre Mode not working for users of macOS Sierra
• A missing font file affecting the Clock/Stopwatch window
As always, please don't hesitate to contact me through Facebook or email. I can't respond to App Store reviews, so if you have issues that you would like to have resolved, please message or email me. Thanks again for your patience!
1.3.1 2017/02/11
Where An Interface Is Redesigned, And Father Time Is Recognized
So this update is a pretty big one. What's changed, you ask? The changes are thus:
• An all-new toolbar replaces the control buttons, making it easier to do all the things that need to be done. And it looks nicer, too, which is always a good thing.
• A new Theatre Mode color scheme makes behind-the-scenes performance improve (both on the coding side, and on your side). It works a little smoother and looks a lot prettier. :)
• Need to keep track of when to break for lunch? Want to know just how long it's taking to get people into their places? Now you can with the new Clock/Stopwatch widget! Small and unobtrusive, it's there when you need it and out of the way when you don't.
• I also made a lot of code changes that you might not notice but will help prepare the app for macOS Sierra.
If you like the app, please don't forget to rate it in the App Store! And if you have questions, please email me at support@whitehatenterprises.com or go to the Facebook page: facebook.com/SoundBoardFX.

Where Sound Levels Can Now Be Seen
In this update, I add the option to show a little sound level meter underneath the shortcut key setting. Where can you enable this amazing new feature, you ask? Why, in the brand-new preferences window, of course! Go to "SoundBoard FX" > "Preferences...", or press "Cmd ,". It's a little bare at the moment, but don't worry! More options will be coming soon.
If you like the app, please don't forget to rate it in the App Store! And if you have questions, please email me at support@whitehatenterprises.com or go to the Facebook page: facebook.com/SoundBoardFX.
1.2.1 2016/07/08
Where The Demands of The Populace Are Met
For a while now, I have planned to add a number of features that have often been requested by customers. Foremost among these requests was the ability to set hotkeys or shortcuts to control the sound effects. So without further ado, I present to you the changes in version 1.2.0:
• Custom hotkey shortcuts for sounds: You can now set pretty much any key or key combination to stop and start playing sounds
• Play counts for each sound: Want to know how many times a certain sound has been played? Need to count the number of loops for an effect? Now you can! The count is saved with the soundboard file, and can be reset for each sound.
• Background improvements: In preparation for future updates, I've changed the way that the sound files are stored. (For those of you who like technical details, I've changed the object type from NSSound to AVAudioPlayer.)
• Remember that little volume popup that I said would come back when it was fixed? Well, it's back. Because it's fixed. So yeah.
• I've decided to no longer write any bugs into the program, and have eliminated all the bugs that were there. So if there are any bugs now, it is because an evil cat jumped on my keyboard and added bugs when I wasn't looking.
Note: If you're experiencing difficulties with soundboard files that you created using earlier versions of the app, please try re-selecting the sounds for each effect. Due to sandboxing limitations by Apple, affected sound files must be selected by the user, and not programmatically. Sorry for the inconvenience!
I really like to hear from the people who use my app. So if you're in a chatty mood, you can message me through Facebook at Facebook.com/SoundBoardFX, or email me at support@whitehatenterprises.com. I welcome comments, suggestions, feedback, complaints, and even the occasional hate mail, so please don't hold back.
If you liked my app, please rate and review it! It really helps independent developers like myself.
1.2.0 2016/06/14
When moving the slider for a sound on the soundboard, a popup would very enthusiastically and repeatedly appear at the top of the window, trying to tell you the current volume level. He's been told to go work on his appearance, and will present himself in a more fashionable manner in a later version.
New in Update 1.1.0:
Where an Apology is Given, And Bugs Are Vanquished:
Ok, ok, I know. The last version was released a tad... prematurely. I sincerely apologize to those of you who were frustrated by bugs and crashes, and if we ever happen to meet in person, I'll buy you a cup of coffee to make up for it. Honest.
So after going through that humbling experience, I have taken the time to go through pretty much every line of code and thoroughly debug it. The result is a functional, robust application with a few new features that will help you use the app.
What's new in this version:
• The first time you launch the app, a short walkthrough will be shown which will take you through the basics of using this program. Because, well, instructions are nice.
• Sure, it *said* it was a rich text editing field, but it sure didn't show any proof. Not anymore! Now there's a formatting bar on top of the window that helps you make your text pretty.
• Showing the length of the sound is nice, but it's also nice to show current time and time remaining. Now it does.
• It's hard to read green text on green highlighting. So now when you highlight a row, you get a nice neat border.
• Speaking of green things, those blue check boxes and progress bars looked kind of silly next to the green text. They took some fashion advice and are now color-coordinated.
• So you know that bug where selecting music files would fail to, well, select music files? That was kind of silly, so I fixed that.
• Also, clicking Cancel when selecting a file would cause a crash. That's fixed too.
If you liked the app, please remember to rate it on the App Store and share it with your friends and colleagues :)
