This version adds support for a global shortcut to toggle the layout for the currently used application. This means you can temporarily change the layout for an app without opening the Keyboard Pilot preferences. You can also use the shortcut to set up new applications even more easily than before. We have also improved the layout switching for "two-level" layouts such as Chinese and Japanese layouts.

The 1.8 update, while fixing an issue with multi-level keyboard layouts such as Japanese and Chinese, introduced issues for some users with simple layouts. This update reverts that change, in preparation for an update that aims to bring back the multi-level layout support in a better way. We are sorry for the problems caused by the previous update, and thankful to those who reported it. Thanks! - Added a layout called "None" that can be used to not switch layouts when certain apps are active. - Only show the preferences window automatically when Keyboard Pilot is started manually (as opposed to started at login).

- Added option to only switch layout when apps initially launch. Useful for combining with the built-in per-document layout switching in OS X. - Only show enabled keyboard layouts. Keyboard Pilot cannot enable layouts that are not enabled - go to the system Keyboard preferences to do that. - Update the list of enable layouts when they change. - Show the preferences window when launching Keyboard Pilot and it's already running.
