This version of Teleprompter is all about adding user-requested features, most notably an iPad version. General: - Dark mode support. - Adjustable window opacity, so you can view things behind Teleprompter. - Add video and audio recording in the “Recording” sidebar. Text Editing: - Add support for pixel-width margins along the script. You can find these in the Script sidebar. - Add a text formatting bar to the top of the window for adjusting lists, line spacing, and other text attributes. - Allow dragging images into the text. File Handling: - Change to a new package-based file format, which can be opened even without Teleprompter installed. (Right click on a new Teleprompter file, and select ‘Show Package Contents’ to see the text.rtf inside.) - Export options, change the font, colors, and alignment when exporting. - Import options, change the font, colors, and alignment when importing a new document. - Add a separate Import menu. - Add a “Switch to Recent…” menu, which shows the recent documents. When you open a document from this menu, it replaces the currently active document with the new document, but with its display configuration the same as the replaced document. This is useful to “quick change” between scripts. Timing and Segments: - Add the ability to jump backwards and forwards between segment markers. See Timeline > Previous/Next Segment. - Add another sidebar for segments, which shows all the segments, their durations, lets you add new segments, and has buttons to jump to them. Showing this sidebar shows the segments in the text and lets you reposition them. You can also change the total duration of the script by rescaling the durations of all the segments. - Allow jumping to the first 9 segments with the Command(1-9) keys. - Add the ability to add pauses before segments. - Add a Timer interface, which shows the elapsed, remaining, and total prompting time based on the current speed. Add an arrow to help you read along on the left or right side of your script. - You can now add the time elapsed, time remaining, total time, or a clock to show over the script. - Add a better overlay designer interface that allows manipulating the overlay elements directly rather than dragging sliders. Screens: - Added "Text Blocker." When enabled, a custom image and background color are shown on secondary monitors. Find this in the Screens sidebar or under View > Block Text. - In the Screens sidebar, add a preview window so you can see what’s happening on each screen. The most consequential change in this new version of Teleprompter is drastically expanded networking capabilities. - In the Screens sidebar, Teleprompter will now search for other Macs or iPads running Teleprompter on the local network, and allow you to prompt remotely simply by checking a box. - Additionally, you can open scripts from other devices using the File > Open from Network… menu. You can use scripts remotely just as you would locally, including editing text collaboratively, and simultaneous editing and prompting.
