Looks like you are one of these persons who really want to read the release notes - wow. So we don't want to dissapoint you.
Say Goodbye to iOS6, say Hello to iOS7 !
We cutted off the compatibility for older iOS version than iOS7. This has a bunch of reasons. Most important, our own AirSync WLAN network stack was not working anymore on iOS7.1. Instead of re-engineering old crappy code, we decided to implement the brand new Multipeer Connectivity Framework, introduced in iOS7, for both protocols, WiFi and Bluetooth. Now you can mix-up both for the same AirSync session. And in our tests it works really great, as long as the HOST device joins both protocols. The new network layer supports up to eight devices, and we do not know if this is a hard limit or not, its stated in Apples documentation.
64bit Support. Yes - the binary is now compiled for the new 64bit processors of iPhone 5S. We do not know if this is a performance boost or not, we even don't know if its however worth to compute with 64 Bits on such a small device, anyway, we can now !
The Airsync will be stored now. So, once you are in sync with your colleagues, you can leave the practise session for calling your husband or wife or so, chatting a bit, and re-join later without the need to clap your hands again. Simply hit the "join" button and wait till the metronome will wink. Nice one, isn't it?
Idle timer disabled: As long as the metronome is in foreground, the devices idle timer is disabled. This will prevent the device from auto-lock, regardless what you have configured in Settings app. However, you can still lock manually, of course.
The default Audio Session will now ignrore the Mute Switch. Bored of so many bad ratings mention "no sound" or similar, we decided to overwrite the Mute Switch (which might be almost set to "mute" on iPads, causing the user to think our metronome is too stupid to play any sound). You still got the opportunity to set the Autio Session to the old behaviour, so you can disable the click sound with the mute switch.
Did we forget something? Well, yes: Your personal feature request ... but still got it all in mind. Please do support our little baby, by telling your friends about our genius, leaving a fantastic rating, simply spread the word how useful Metronome touch is for your daily musical practise (or for whatever reason you'll use it). As long as we will sell a bit, we'll get motivated to implement one nice feature after the other.
Cheers!
ps. After releasing this version we've noticed a bug causing the app to crash when you install (not upgrade) Metronome touch and try to use the "Tell a friend" action. This will be fixed in next release, sorry for any inconvenience.
