I made some changes to the app's appearance so it looks better on MacOS 26.

Minor maintenance upgrade: I added text to the Venus finder to show if the heliacal setting, cosmical rising or cosmical setting are canonical or astronomical. I made minor changes to the code, invisible to the user.

I fixed a minor bug that could cause the eclipse finder to miss a few last solar eclipses.

I made internal changes to the code to modernize it and build it for a minimum macOS of 13. I fixed a bug that could cause it to fail to save an inscription as a graphics file type. I fixed a bug that caused the patron deity of the Haab’ month to appear blurred in some graphics file types. I cleaned up the templates that are used for the dialogs and the main inscription window.

I fixed a bug that caused partial lunar eclipses to be displayed as total eclipses.

This is a maintenance update: I fixed one minor bug, edited the Help Book and made small changes to the display of an inscription window.

For this version I: Configured the main window to appear at the top of the screen, adjacent to the menu bar with no space. Fixed a bug that caused the background color of the field with God K/ K'awiil to fill the entire inscription window. Made a minor edit to the text in the Help Book.

minor tweaks

I added text in the Help Book describing the 819 cycle as a magic number close to multiples of the synodic periods of the five visible planets. I made the text field for special statements include short count completion.

I added new information about the 819-day cycle to the Help Book. I changed the small options pane in the lower left of an inscription so it will only show options if they aren't the default.

I built this version for Mac OS 11. I fixed a bug that would cause the suggested file name when saving inscriptions to be truncated at the last period in the long count. I made minor changes to the panels and their actions and layouts. I added a feature: In the codices the cycles of Venus are canonical not astronomical. The first day of the Venus cycle is the heliacal rising. Then there are 236 days as morning star, 90 days of invisibility during superior conjunction, 250 days as evening star and eight days of invisibility at inferior conjunction. I made it a preference to calculate the stations of Venus either way and made the canonical / codex system the default setting.

I added support for formatting of large numbers - for example, 2459715.4252 could be entered as 2,459,715.4252 or 2 459 715.4252 (European style) and would be displayed as 2,459,715.4252. I edited the template for the Venus panel to make the text more complete. I edited the templates for the Long Reckoning and Julian to Gregorian Date panels improve the text that they display and clarify their use.

I edited the help book, built the app for Intel and Apple silicon and modernized a lot of code to make the app compatible with future releases of Mac OS.

I fixed a bug that could cause Chac to crash when saving an inscription in a graphics format if it was running on macOS Big Sur 11.2.3.

I fixed a small bug that caused the solstice and equinox panel to display the days to the next or last event to be off by one day.

I added more correlations, edited the Help Book, realigned the About Chac dialog and built it as a universal app - for Intel and Apple Silicon.

This version is built for MAC OS 10.12
