Frame & Beam Analysis 3D analyses a building frame the way structural engineers do: by the matrix stiffness method, in three dimensions. Set the grid, the sizes and the use of each floor, and every beam and column is analysed with its moment, shear, torsion, axial force and deflection. BUILD THE MODEL • 1 to 5 bays in each direction, 1 or 2 storeys, any bay width and storey height • Reinforced concrete, steel (W, IPE, HE, UB, UC, ISMB, ISHB sections) or timber • Fixed or pinned bases, extra columns anywhere along a bay, ground tie beams with wall loads • Give any element its own size, or remove it • Live 3D view: turn, move and zoom with your fingers, full screen, shaded solid view LOADS TO THE CODE • India, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Europe, UK, UAE and Saudi Arabia • Imposed loads by use: residential, office, retail, auditorium, theatre, library, parking, hospital, school, roofs • Slab loads to every beam by 45° yield lines (triangles and trapezoids) or one-way action, plus self weight, finishes, walls and parapets • Limit state combinations of each code, with chequerboard pattern live load • Earthquake loads by each code's equivalent static method: zone or city, soil, frame system and importance, with storey drift checks RESULTS • Bending moment, shear, torsion and axial force diagrams in 3D and on every gridline frame in both directions • Animated deflected shape • Every element: critical values, diagrams and a table along its length • Permissible limit checks: deflection, shear with torsion, bending, column axial load and interaction, storey drift • Suggestions when a section fails, and one tap to resize until everything passes REPORTS • PDF report of the whole building with 3D views and every frame's diagrams • PDF report of any single element • CSV table of all elements PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads and no tracking. Everything is calculated on your device; the only network request is the optional USGS site look-up for US projects. Frame & Beam Analysis 3D is a checking and learning tool; a qualified engineer must verify every design.
