Know what to see. When to look. From your sky.
Turn a clear night into a plan with Live Sky. Combine your observing location, the sky visible from your window or backyard, your telescope and available weather in personalized observing advice. Discover upcoming sky events, explore the hours ahead and set reminders for the moments you want to catch.
YOUR SKY, YOUR SETUP
Save viewpoints for your balcony, south-facing window or favorite observing spot. Capture the open sky around trees and rooftops, then rotate the interactive 3D sky globe to explore the areas you marked. See which objects fit your view.
PRACTICAL, PERSONALIZED SUMMARIES
Get help choosing what to observe now or at a later reference time. Summaries bring together your location, saved viewpoints, favorite targets, telescope, darkness, Moon context and matching weather when available. Open an object such as Saturn for advice tailored to your setup.
YOUR TELESCOPE AND ACCESSORIES
Search a catalog of 250 telescope models across 13 brands, including Celestron, Sky-Watcher, Explore Scientific, Astro-Tech, William Optics, Takahashi, Tele Vue, iOptron, Seestar, Vaonis and Unistellar. Add eyepieces and other accessories, or enter a custom setup. Equipment profiles help personalize observing advice; Live Sky does not connect to or control your telescope.
SKY EVENTS FOR YOUR LOCATION
Explore eclipses, meteor showers, conjunctions and Moon phases. Check local visibility and event times, use the Visible Here filter, and choose a reminder so you have time to get ready.
PLAN AHEAD WITH TIME MACHINE
Move through the next 12 hours to explore the sky at a time that suits you. Use Tonight to choose an observing reference time and set a reminder two hours before it. Weather guidance depends on a matching forecast being available.
CREATE YOUR OWN OBSERVATION ALERTS
Choose an object and a saved viewpoint, or set position rules such as altitude and compass direction. Position alerts track the rules you set; they do not automatically wait for clear weather or reduced Moon glare.
