Public Orthodoxy is a flagship initiative of the Orthodox Christian Studies Center, first launched in 2015 as a platform for scholars to engage with contemporary issues in a way that resonates with a wider, non-academic audience. Since then, it has grown into a dynamic space that connects the ecclesial, academic, and political realms, featuring contributions from international scholars, bishops, priests, and laity. Most of the content is available in English, Greek, and Russian.
In 2023, Public Orthodoxy expanded its reach, offering more than just editorial content. Through this app, you can now access a variety of public-facing materials, including video recordings of events, webinars, sermon series, and more.
The app provides in-depth, independent reporting and analysis on topics affecting the Orthodox Christian community, covering theology, practice, culture, and the arts. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the intersection of Orthodoxy and contemporary global issues.
In 2022, Public Orthodoxy’s website was blocked in Russia by government authorities, but this app remains a reliable way to access our content despite censorship. We believe in the fundamental importance of freedom of information and are dedicated to continuing our mission to inform and engage readers worldwide.
Features:
• Full access to publications in English and Russian
• No subscription fees; the app is free to download
• Independent, thought-provoking content from the Orthodox Christian Studies Center
Download the app today and share it with your family and friends. Stay connected to the global Orthodox conversation, wherever you are.

We’re excited to introduce a major update to the Public Orthodoxy app, making it even more convenient and accessible. The new version now supports Greek and Ukrainian languages. We’ve also added a Share button, allowing you to quickly send articles to friends. With DeepLink integration, links on the publicorthodoxy.org will now open directly in the app. Additionally, we’ve listened to your feedback and reduced the header font size for a more comfortable reading experience.
