Folia 1.19 brings a redesigned interface and two new ways to capture work. A new look A left rail on desktop and a bottom rail on mobile make navigation faster. The new Home area puts recent and favorited documents in front of you the moment you open the app, and adding documents now takes fewer steps from anywhere. Documents without projects You no longer need a project to get started. Add and annotate individual documents on their own — they live in a general area until you decide where they belong. Scan and OCR from your camera Capture a paper document with your camera and Folia makes the text searchable and annotatable. Audio annotations Record a voice note directly onto a document from your microphone. Plus stability improvements and bug fixes.

- Want to erase just a portion of an annotation you've made with the Pencil tool? Use the pixel eraser, now available in addition to the object eraser. - Improved text overflow handling for documents and projects with long names

Any custom changes you've made to tool presets and their properties (e.g. color, opacity, stroke width) for the Pencil, Highlighter, and Shape tools, are now accessible across documents, projects, sessions, and even across your devices. It's now easier than ever to pick up where you left off without having to reconfigure presets each time!

Multiple bug fixes and improvements made to UI

Just like your Folia experience on web, you can now reveal a left sidebar that can be used to easily navigate back home or jump to recent projects you've being working on. The sidebar also shows a listing of all of the documents in the project you're currently in — quickly open any document you see listed without having to navigate out of the view you're in. Additionally, we've made it easier to download documents and see a document's source along with other metadata. Multiple UI updates and bug fixes have also been made in this version.

- Enhanced support for Apple Pencil now allows you to customize your annotation experience based on your preference for using touch or Apple Pencil. Folia will auto-detect whenever Apple Pencil is in use, so you can easily go from using touch to using Apple Pencil (and vice versa). Folia will automatically distinguish between your Apple Pencil and finger, so that you can draw using Apple Pencil and scroll with the same hand. Auto-detect can also be turned off and you can manually switch between Touch and Pencil at any time while you work. - Project thumbnails now have a new and more elegant default image.
