Forma is a visual workspace where tasks, notes, and ideas live together — not trapped in lists, but laid out the way you actually think.
Draw, write, and organize on a single canvas. Drag sticky note cards anywhere. Sketch freehand between them. Everything stays exactly where you put it.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
→ Create cards that hold rich text, markdown, task checklists, and nested bullet lists
→ Draw freely with pressure-sensitive marker strokes directly on the canvas
→ Erase precisely — remove individual strokes or whole cards instantly
→ Move groups — drag a card and any drawing inside it moves with it
→ Review your work — a 14-day activity chart keeps your momentum visible
→ Undo and redo anything with full snapshot history
BUILT FOR THE WAY YOU THINK
Most productivity apps force your ideas into lists and calendars. Forma doesn't. It gives you a spatial canvas — the same kind of thinking space you'd use on a whiteboard or a desk covered in sticky notes, but on your Mac.
Whether you're mapping out a project, planning your week, capturing meeting notes, or just thinking out loud — Forma makes it visual and fast.
MARKDOWN YOU'LL ACTUALLY USE
Cards support a clean, focused set of markdown:
· # Headings to structure your thinking
· - [ ] Task checkboxes you can tick off
· **bold** and *italic* for emphasis
· Bulleted, starred, and numbered lists
· Dividers
A quick-access toolbar inside every card keeps formatting one click away.
NO SUBSCRIPTION. NO LOCK-IN.
Forma is a free app with some additional paid features behind a one-time purchase. Your notes live locally in a plain file — no account required, no cloud dependency, no monthly bill.
WHO IT'S FOR
→ Knowledge workers who think spatially, not in lists
→ Designers who sketch while they write
→ Project managers who want a flexible, visual board
→ Students who need to connect ideas across a page
→ Anyone who's ever arranged sticky notes on a wall and wished their Mac could do the same
