WHY NOT JUST USE FINAL CUT PRO'S BUILT-IN DELETE?
Final Cut Pro can delete generated files — one library at a time, with the library open, and without telling you how much you'll get back. Vacuum scans all your drives at once and shows what every library really costs: render files, proxies, optimized media, analysis caches and backups, per category. It finds the libraries you forgot, the duplicates, and the orphaned auto-backups Final Cut Pro never shows you. And unlike a manual purge, every cleanup comes with a safety net and one-click undo.
TRY IT ON ONE LIBRARY
Nothing is ever hard-deleted. Everything goes to the macOS Trash: run a cleanup, open your project in Final Cut Pro, check that all is well — and only then empty the Trash. If post-cleanup validation finds anything wrong, Vacuum restores the library metadata automatically.
SAFE BY DESIGN
Every cleanup passes a multi-gate safety pipeline: cleanup is blocked while Final Cut Pro is running, only known regenerable file types qualify, your Original Media is structurally excluded with no opt-out, cache files shared with another library are flagged first, and an APFS snapshot of the library metadata is taken before anything moves.

Every operation is logged. Restore cleaned files in one click from the built-in history, as long as they remain in the Trash.
