Press play for deep, steady brown noise.
Brown Noise Player generates smooth, deep brown noise in real time. There are no audio files inside it, so nothing ever loops, nothing repeats, and the sound keeps going for as long as you need it.
For studying, deep work, a noisy office, a restless night, or a baby who only sleeps to a fan.
SIX BROWN NOISES, FREE
Classic - balanced, steady brown noise
Smooth - soft and round, more low rumble, no hiss
Deep - darker and heavier, like distant thunder
Warm - softer top end, gentle and close
Ocean - slow rolling swells, like surf
Rainfall - brighter and airier, a steady downpour
All level-matched, so switching never jumps in loudness.
SLEEP TIMER
Pick a length and the sound fades out gently at the end instead of cutting off.
STUDY AND FOCUS SESSIONS
Study or work in rounds, each marked by a soft bell. Breaks dim and darken the sound rather than stopping it, so the room never goes quiet and getting back to it is one bell, not a restart. See how long you focused today, and keep a streak going.
EVERYWHERE YOU NEED IT
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. A Control Center control. A Live Activity countdown on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Siri and Shortcuts, including automations like "when Work Focus turns on, start a focus session".
BUILT TO GET OUT OF THE WAY
Keeps playing with the screen locked. Lock screen controls. Pauses when headphones are unplugged. Steps aside for calls, then picks back up. Can play over your podcasts and music.
BROWN NOISE PRO
Everything above is free. Pro is for building your own sound:
- Voice Blocker: noise shaped like the human voice, so a coworker on speakerphone or the TV next door blurs into the background
- 16 more sounds: rain, stream, waterfall, wind, campfire, crickets, fan, airplane cabin, heartbeat, pink, white, green and grey noise, surf, and two binaural tone layers
- Mixer: layer any sounds, each with its own level and a continuous dark-to-bright tone control
- Saved mixes, synced through iCloud, shareable as a link, one tap from a widget
- Drift: slow, never-repeating movement in each layer
- Long sunset fades that darken as they quieten, any timer length, or fade to a low hum and keep playing
- Custom focus and break lengths, long breaks, focus tones, and your own mix for deep work
Pro is a yearly subscription with a free week to try it, or a one-time lifetime purchase. If you bought the app when it was paid, Pro is already yours.
NO ACCOUNTS, NO ADS, NO TRACKING
No sign-up. No analytics. The app collects nothing. Every sound is generated on your device and works the same in airplane mode.

New: Smooth, a sixth free sound.
Soft and round, with more low rumble and no hiss. If you know the brown noise everyone plays on YouTube, this is that sound, generated live so it never loops. It's second on the main screen.
